Some posts are harder to write than others.
(See stories) Many of you may have seen todayâs story about our 13-year-old son, Toby. Like so many of the young riders who come to Strathpuffer every year, heâs mountain bike mad. Last December, his world was turned upside down when he underwent pioneering surgery to remove a brain tumour.
As a family, we spent weeks living minute to minute. During that time, Crossbasket House became our basecamp. It gave us somewhere to rest, somewhere to regroup, and somewhere to stay close to Toby when that was all that mattered.
The kindness, compassion and support we received will stay with us forever.
Thatâs why Crossbasket House is Strathpufferâs nominated charity this year. This isnât just another charity partnership for us â itâs deeply personal.
If youâve got a few minutes, weâd love you to read Tobyâs story. We hope it shows just how important charities like Crossbasket House are for families facing the toughest days of their lives.
To everyone at Crossbasket House, thank you. And to the Strathpuffer community, thank you for always showing what this sport is really aboutâlooking after each other.
