📢 We’re Recruiting – Club Safeguarding Officer 📢
We would like to sincerely thank our current Safeguarding Officer, Tracey Packham
⭐️ who has supported the Club for many years. She has now made the decision to step down from the role, and we are extremely grateful for her commitment, dedication, and the invaluable contribution she has made during her time in the position. 🙏👏
We are now seeking a new volunteer to take on this important role.
🛡️ What the role involves
The Safeguarding Officer plays a vital part in ensuring our Club remains a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone, particularly children and vulnerable adults. The role is carried out in line with RFU safeguarding standards and guidance.
Key responsibilities include:
✅ Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns
✅ Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
✅ Supporting coaches and volunteers with safeguarding awareness
✅ Liaising with the RFU and relevant safeguarding bodies when required
✅ Maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality 🔒
✅ Promoting a positive safeguarding culture across the Club 🌟
👥 Who we are looking for
🔹 Someone responsible, approachable, and discreet
🔹 Good communication and organisational skills
🔹 A commitment to safeguarding best practice 🛡️
📚 Training is provided via the RFU – no prior experience is required, although it would be beneficial.
This is a key volunteer role that helps protect everyone in our Club and ensures we continue to meet our responsibilities as a rugby community. 🏉💙
