George Lovatt, widely known as the “Brierley Hill Giant,” was a legendary figure born in 1869 who worked at a chainworks in Cradley Heath. Standing over seven feet tall and weighing roughly 48 to 50 stone, he remains famous in Black Country folklore for his size, gentle disposition, and massive super-sized grave.
