What an incredible day for the Mercian Valkyries U14s, who battled their way to a fantastic 2nd place finish at the Gloucester 7s Festival! 🥈
A special mention to the 7 Old Hales Girls who were part of the squad, contributing to a brilliant team performance throughout the tournament. Their hard work, determination, and teamwork were on display from the first whistle to the last.
The girls represented the club with pride, creating memories that will last a lifetime and showing exactly what the Valkyries spirit is all about. 💪🔥

What a weekend for Old Halesonians Minis at the Leicester Tigers Challenge 🏉🐯

From the youngest players pulling tags and scoring tries to the older age groups competing brilliantly throughout the tournament, the whole weekend was a fantastic advert for our club. The effort, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship shown by every single player made all of the coaches, volunteers and parents incredibly proud.

These weekends are about far more than rugby. They are about making memories, building friendships and giving the children experiences they will remember for years to come. Seeing the players proudly wearing their tour kit and representing Old Halesonians the way they did was brilliant to see.

☀️ OLD HALESONIANS SUMMER TOUCH RUGBY IS BACK ☀️

We’re buzzing to get our Summer Touch Rugby sessions underway again and everyone is welcome to get involved

Whether you’re a current player, returning after a break or completely new to rugby, this is the perfect way to stay active, enjoy the summer evenings and be part of a great group down at the club

📅 Starting Monday 11th May 2026

⏰ Minis (up to U11’s)
18.30 – 19.30

⏰ Adults & Juniors (U12 onwards)
19.00 – 20.30

💷 Just £2 per week or £20 upfront for 14 weeks

Some people give a few seasons, others give a huge part of their life to a club. Ollie Taylor has given Old Halesonians Mini and Juniors the best part of 15 years and what a mark he’s left.

As Ollie steps away from coaching, we wanted to take a moment to recognise everything he’s put into the club over the years. From starting out with the U7s to finishing with the Colts, he’s been right at the heart of developing players all the way through the age groups and into senior rugby. The fact so many of those players are now playing senior rugby says everything about the impact he’s had.

His contribution hasn’t just been on a Sunday morning either. Ollie has played a big role in growing the club as a whole, supporting the introduction of Micros and Girls Rugby, being part of some brilliant club moments like trips to Twickenham, and helping drive standards that have seen players progress into county, academy and beyond. Behind the scenes he has also supported and guided other coaches, helping raise the level right across Mini and Juniors.

To round things off with a Colts win this weekend feels like a fitting way to sign off.

More than anything Ollie has been part of the fabric of this club, someone who has always just got stuck in and given his time for the benefit of others. Players, parents, coaches, volunteers, you have had a positive impact on all of them.

And knowing Old Hales, we don’t think this is a full goodbye. You haven’t got long before your grandson Barney is starting at the bottom, and we’re pretty sure you’ll be dragged straight back in to help guide him through the teams.
From everyone at Old Halesonians Mini and Juniors, thank you. Properly.

We are sure we will still see you around the place, watching on as the next group of players come through.

Massive congratulations to four of our Junior Colts who were in action last night representing Worcestershire in the North Midlands County fixture against South Warwickshire 👏

From left to right – Leo Rees Smith, Jack Dyson, Kane Nicholls and Harley Penn.

The lads played their part in a brilliant team performance, coming away with a well deserved victory 🔥

A special mention to Harley who led the side as captain – a proud moment and fully deserved. Another shout out to Leo who got himself on the scoresheet with a quality try 👌

All four represented Old Halesonians with real pride, effort and class. It’s great to see so many of our players stepping up and testing themselves at the next level of rugby.
