It’s been a very busy few days for the club with Scottish Schools, Novice Leagues and Midland District Open Water Champs all taking place back to back

Well done to all the swimmers and an especially big thanks to all the volunteers who have made our attendance at all three events possible.

To be able to support our swimmers across three days of competition in three different venues is testament to the commitment of our volunteer team

Thank you to everyone who has taken on a role as coach, team manager, technical official etc

Another great Step Rock display at the Midland District Open Water Championships yesterday at Monikie with twenty three swimmers in action across distances of between 500m and 5km

Some amazing swims from the squad with a special shout out to Ingrid who raced to Gold in her first ever OW event, Holly who took on her first ever 2km AND then smashed her relay leg, Freya who gave all the volunteers the biggest smile on EVERY lap of her 5km, Maia who showed off her skills by barrel rolling to get herself into a brilliant position in the relay, and Max who swam a super-fast 2km missing out on a medal by a fingernail but earning himself the respect of the entire squad for his brilliant attitude towards his race and the sport in general!

Thank you too to our open water volunteers, Coach: Kirsten, Team Manager: Katie, and technical officials: Ronan, Eoghan, Steph, Laura, Maria and Kath

Great racing tonight from the open water squad who had their last training session before they take on the first competitive event on the 31st May

They all raced the distance they’ll be competing over at the East District Open Water Championships so anywhere between 250m and 2km

Fantastic to see them all looking so comfortable in the water already at this early stage in the season with some great sighting and drafting skills on display.

Thanks to tonight’s support crew of Helen, Gayle, Stuart, Katie, Kirsten and Ronan

Well done all
