We’re incredibly proud to share the impact of our continued partnership with Tatu Rugby 💙
On 14 June, Tatu Rugby hosted the second edition of their girls-only 7s tournament in Kenya, welcoming 1,611 participants, an incredible increase from last year’s 1,200.
Thanks to the funds raised through our Saints 7s tournament, Tatu was able to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever. Alongside a fantastic day of rugby featuring 12 teams, including community clubs and girls secondary schools, every participant received a gift pack containing stationery and essential sanitary products to take home, while snacks were provided throughout the day between rugby and mentorship sessions.
The tournament is about far more than results. It’s about creating opportunities, encouraging girls to stay involved in rugby and supporting their education, health and confidence. Last year’s tournament even saw the top try scorer earn a scholarship to one of Kenya’s leading girls’ schools through rugby.
The impact also stretches well beyond tournament day. Donated St Andrews kit continues to be worn with pride in schools, churches and communities, while boots, shirts and other equipment remain invaluable to young players.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising and donated kit. Your generosity is helping Tatu continue to grow opportunities for girls through rugby and we’re excited to see what we can achieve together next 💙
