7 Hills V Charnock Ridgeway

Tonight we travelled away for our final pre season friendly. The rain was coming down, but that certainly didn’t stop Charnock!

We started the game strongly, taking everything on board from their training session and putting it into practice. This resulted in a brilliant opening goal from Fearne! ⚽️

The team continued to work fantastically well together, with passing being a main focus of their game. This created lots of chances and resulted in Jaxon finding the back of the net, with a great assist from Christopher! ⚽️

Alfie, Hudson and Alf were keeping things tight at the back, making some strong tackles and winning possession back for Charnock, while our keeper Jacob was sharp between the sticks!

Theo was dominating the midfield throughout the game, using his wingers brilliantly. We saw some excellent assists from George and Levison, setting Theo up perfectly for an amazing HATRICK! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

👏🏻 Well done to each and every one of you! What a pleasure it has been to see just how far you have all come over the summer. The hard work, teamwork and determination you have shown has been fantastic to watch.

Sunday 22nd August
Charnock Ridgeway V Abbey Lane

Charnock were at home this week for another pre season friendly, this time against Abbey Lane and were on fantastic form from the very start!
Charnock created some great chances from the get go, with Jaxon opening the scoring with a lovely finish just minutes into the game! ⚽️

Abbey Lane fought back with plenty of pressure on the Charnock defence, but Hudson and Alfie stood strong with some excellent tackles to win the ball back and keep Abbey Lane at bay.

Charnock continued to apply pressure, using the space brilliantly and passing the ball around well. Levison, Fearne, Alfie and Christopher worked tirelessly on the wings, with Theo in midfield helping to keep the game flowing. The energy and effort from everyone was fantastic to see!

It wasn’t long before another great pass, this time from Hudson into Jaxon, resulted in a second goal for Charnock! ⚽️

At the other end, our keeper Jacob kept Charnock’s net clear with some excellent saves!

As the match came towards the final whistle, Levison chipped one over the keeper to secure another goal for the team! ⚽️

Well done, Charnock!
The hard work is certainly paying off, and it was great to see everyone working together and giving their all.

Sunday 16th August

Brinsworth Whitehall Yellows V Charnock Ridgeway

Charnock travelled away for a pre-season friendly against Brinsworth Whitehall Yellows, and what a game it was!

The game started brilliantly for Charnock, with some excellent teamwork and some fantastic passing putting the pressure on Brinsworth. Christopher made a fantastic run up the wing before finding Jaxon, who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net! ⚽️👏

Brinsworth then upped the pressure, but our defence stood strong. Alfie and Hudson worked brilliantly at the back to keep Brinsworth away from our goal, while Jacob made some excellent saves between the sticks!

The second half saw Brinsworth quickly equalise, but Charnock stood their ground and continued to work amazingly as a team. The boys kept battling and playing some fantastic football.

George played a great ball into Theo, who found Levison, who then went on to assist Jaxon for his second goal of the game! ⚽️👏🏻
What a fantastic team performance from every single player. It was a tough, physical game, but you all shone today! ⭐️

Well done Jacob! You had lots of pressure on you throughout the whole game, but you never let it affect your performance. Your quick thinking and fantastic reflexes resulted in some brilliant saves and kept us in the game!🧤👏🏻

Parents Player of the Match – Hudson🏆
Well done Hudson! You absolutely smashed it in defence today, keeping Brinsworth at bay with some strong tackles, winning the ball and making some great runs up the field. You also found your teammates with some fantastic passes and came very close to getting a goal of your own! ⚽️👏🏻

A fantastic game of football between two teams who were both determined to come away with the win. It was a close match from start to finish, with just one goal separating the sides. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Charnock’s day, but every single player gave 100% effort, and that’s all we can ask for. Well done, everyone! 🔴⚫️👏

🏆 Manager’s Player of the Match – CHRISTOPHER

Christopher put in a fantastic performance today, creating chances for the team with some excellent passing! He also switched from his usual position into defence without hesitation and was solid at the back, helping to keep Sheffield City under pressure for much of the game. A brilliant all round performance! Well done, Christopher! Keep up the hard work! 👏⚽

🏆 Parent’s Player of the Match – GEORGE

George was another standout performer today. He delivered some fantastic crosses throughout the game, keeping Sheffield City on their toes. He made several strong runs with the ball that created some real opportunities for Charnock. George was full of energy and never dropped from the first whistle to the last. Sunday 19th July
Wisewood Juniors vs Charnock Ridgeway

Charnock were back in action today with an away fixture against Wisewood Juniors.

The team knew they were in for a tough test, facing opponents who play a couple of divisions above us, and with no substitutes available due to several players being away on holiday. Despite the challenge, Charnock showed fantastic determination and work rate from the very first whistle.

It didn’t take long for the breakthrough, with Alfie firing Charnock into an early lead with a brilliant finish. ⚽️

At the back, Hudson and Alf were outstanding, working tirelessly to protect the lead with some excellent defending. On the wings , George and Fearne put in an excellent shift, tracking back well and preventing Wisewood from creating many clear cut chances.

Charnock doubled their advantage before the break when Levison found the back of the net with a superb strike. ⚽️ The team went into half time full of confidence after an excellent first half performance.

The second half started just as positively, with Charnock continuing to play some brilliant football. Jacob pulled off several outstanding saves to keep Wisewood at bay, while the team created some fantastic attacking moves with excellent passing and movement. One of those moves saw Levison provide a perfect assist for Alf, who calmly finished to make it three. ⚽️

Wisewood continued to battle and eventually found a way through to score a goal of their own, but Charnock stood strong until the final whistle.

What a fantastic game of football to watch. Every single player gave absolutely everything, showing great teamwork, determination and quality against very strong opposition. Most importantly, the children thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Hudson played some fantastic football today, he was strong in defence and also switched his position to midfield creating some excellent chances for his team with some strong shots on target! Keep up the hard work Hudson 👏🏻
