Today, history was made as the first-ever girls team to play for Rugeley Rugby Club took to the pitch for their very first friendly! ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ‰

And what a way to startโ€ฆ 1 DRAW and 1 WIN! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ”ฅ

A couple of faces were missing from the team today, but that didnโ€™t stop these girls from giving it everything they had and making us incredibly proud.

From the first whistle to the final one, they showed heart, determination, teamwork and so much fight. What they have achieved today is something they should all be incredibly proud of.

This is just the beginning of what we hope will be an amazing journey for this team. ๐Ÿ’›

To say we are proud is an understatement. โค๏ธ

Today, two amazing club members are taking on the Great North Run

โค๏ธ Shellie has just started her run, running in loving memory of her sister Sami, raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Every step is for Sami, a sadly missed member of the club and to help make a difference for other families.

๐Ÿ’™ Mitch is absolutely flying! Heโ€™s already completed a 26-minute 5K and is now closing in on 4 miles! Heโ€™s running to raise money for Meningitis Now, helping support such an important cause.

You can track their progress using their bib numbers and cheer them on from wherever you are with messages sent to them through the app! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Letโ€™s get behind them both, give them all the encouragement we can, and remember the reasons theyโ€™re running today. โค๏ธ

Rugeley Rugby Club has welcomed two new additions to the squadโ€ฆ and they need names.

Weโ€™ve got two new robot lawnmowers joining the club to help keep the pitches looking sharp, but we canโ€™t just send them out unnamed.

Drop your best name ideas in the comments below.

The best two names will be chosen as the winners, and weโ€™ll be getting stickers made so the mowers can officially wear their names with pride.

Funny names, rugby names, Rugeley names, terrible punsโ€ฆ we want them all.
