Week 2 report
This week the team played their first home game against Dudley Ex Service.
The match tables had been expertly prepared by Mike, Jason and Luke, with all balls carefully polished.
Matt and Ian got the leg underway.
Ian played an uncharacteristic loose game, with a few lapses in potting and safety. I can honestly say he also had a terrible run of the balls with his opponent getting away with misses so many times it became amusing. These things happen and like the fine player he is, Ian will bounce back.
Matt played a strong opponent. The game had long bouts of quality safety play and some excellent potting. Unfortunately it was decided by just a few missed balls and on this occasion Matt came out on the wrong side of the result.

Mike and Luke were up next with Mike determined to put right his defeat the previous week.
He played an experienced player whose style was more safety than attack. This suited the RSC man who potted effectively and generally kept the game tight with typical tough match snooker. A comfortable 67-15 win.
Luke on the other table was imperious as he totally dominated all aspects of the game. Total control and a win of 67-2.

As per the previous week Jason took on the final game decider.
The game was a good one to watch with Jason being effective in the balls and playing some of his typical cunning safety shots. He took control of the match and there really was only going to be one winner 67-28
Result 3-2 winners
RST are settling into the new season and showing what the word ‘team’ means with all players supporting one another. It is great that again they didn't panic and came back from two down again.
They have a busy few weeks ahead with them taking on;
Kingswinford away on the 17th
Forty Four club C at home on the 21st in the challenge cup
Then another home league game on the 23rd against Darlaston Cons
Jason is taking on a tough opponent in the Secretary Cup on the 14th.
