Having so much on your doorstep is one of the things people often tell us they love about Houlton 💛

When Rugby Radio Station was built in the 1920s, the main building was designed in a Georgian style. Its striking symmetry, brick detailing and large windows gave it a very different look to other industrial buildings of that time.

100 years later, that same building is now Houlton School 📚

Rather than being removed, many of the original architectural features were carefully restored and incorporated into the school, helping preserve an important piece of Rugby's history while giving it a new purpose for future generations.

This week is Greek Dancing and next month there's a Summer Styling session! They’re a great way to try something different, meet new people and get involved in the community here at Houlton.

There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes to bring the Houlton Family Fun Day together 👏

From our wonderful Houlton Events Team and local volunteers to community groups, sponsors and businesses, it’s a real community effort that helps make the day so fantastic!

This year, the event is supporting Back and Forth - Men’s Mental Health , a local group helping create safe spaces for conversation, support and connection within the community.

There’ll be plenty of food, music, inflatables, games and activities going on throughout the afternoon for all ages to enjoy. It’s always one of the highlights of the summer and we’d love to see lots of you there.

Did you know Houlton’s adventure playground was part of a local PhD project? ✏️

The study explored how adventurous play spaces can support children’s confidence, independence and development and Houlton’s play area was highlighted as part of that research.

This space was designed to encourage imagination, exploration and adventurous play in a way that helps children build confidence as they grow!
