🎉❤️ MISS JO TURNS 40! CAN YOU BLOOMING BELIEVE IT?! ❤️🎉
Today, our wonderful Miss Joanne celebrates her 40th birthday! 🥳🎂
As she heads into her 16th year of running JL Dance Academy, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible woman behind it all.
We’ve come a long way from a 25-year-old Miss Jo teaching a handful of dance classes in a hired hall, to the wonderful dance school and community that JL Dance Academy has become today. ❤️
Over the past 15 years, Miss Jo has taught, trained, encouraged and inspired hundreds of young dancers from our local community. From tiny two-year-olds taking their very first steps into the dance studio, to teenagers preparing for college, careers and whatever life has in store for them next. 🌟
She’s been a teacher, a coach, a mentor, a cheerleader, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, an agony aunt, an occasional therapist and, above all, a friend. ❤️
Anyone who knows Miss Joanne knows that she’s one of the most genuinely humble and selfless people you could ever meet. She gives so much of herself to helping others grow, learn, achieve and believe in themselves, often putting everyone else’s needs before her own.
And, of course, she’d be the very first person to tell you that JL Dance Academy wouldn’t be what it is today without our wonderful team of teachers and the incredible families, past and present, who have supported us along the way.
And she’d be absolutely right.
But today, Miss Jo, it’s your turn! ❤️
For once, we’re going to ask you to put that famous modesty to one side and let us tell you just how loved, appreciated and truly remarkable you are.
Because the impact you’ve had on young people’s lives goes so much further than dance. 🩰
It’s in the confidence of a child who once wouldn’t speak above a whisper. The friendships that have lasted long after the dance shoes were put away. The teenagers who found somewhere they belonged. The young adults who still carry the lessons you taught them, even when they’re no longer dancing.
It’s in every little moment where you’ve helped someone believe that they were capable of more than they ever imagined. ✨
And that’s something you simply can’t measure. Not in trophies, exam results, the number of students in a photograph, or even one of Rob’s beloved spreadsheets! 😂📊
Your greatest achievement isn’t just the dance school you’ve built. It’s the people you’ve helped become who they are.

Thank you for 15 incredible years of JL Dance Academy. Thank you for the endless patience, kindness, encouragement, laughter, tears, hard work and love that you pour into everything you do.
