A Club for the Community

This is the page for the mens senior team.

Our youth teams have their own page at https://www.facebook.com/renfrewfcyouth Renfrew Football Club was formed as Renfrew Juniors FC in 1912 after the previous Junior club in the town, Renfrew Victoria, went defunct in 1910. The ‘Vics’ also played at Western Park. During the period between Renfrew Victoria folding and Renfrew Juniors starting, Western Park was used by a juvenile side Orchard Rove

rs, but local fans, not content with this, decided to form the Junior Club that still exists to this day. The Club name Renfrew Juniors was changed to Renfrew Football Club following the Intermediate Dispute which lasted from 1925 to 1931. More- www.renfrewfc.co.uk/club-infohistory/renfrew-fc-about-us

The new season starts on Saturday 25th July, with fixtures expected to be announced around 4th July. We’re delighted to announce our preseason schedule, with our first game against Stranraer taking place on Wednesday 1st July, before we travel through to Lowland League East side Bo’ness Utd three days later.
The following Saturday we visit Thorn Athletic, before welcoming St.Mirren to New Western Park on Wednesday 15th July. Our preseason games conclude with a trip to Neilston, trying to retain the Hugh Blair Trophy we won last year.

For those looking to pay respects to Ian, his funeral will be held on Wednesday 17th June - 10am at Woodside.

For those looking to pay respects to Ian, his funeral will be held on Wednesday 17th June - 10am at Woodside.

We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of former player and coach Ian Gilchrist. Our records show he played 74 games between the 1973/74 and 1974/75 seasons, although we don’t have complete records, so those numbers could be low. Ian also spent some time in the 1980s in a coaching role with the side.
His two sons have a Renfrew FC connection with Stuart being part of the Scottish Junior Cup winning squad and David a current season ticket holder and member of the Club.

The Club send our condolences to Ian’s family and friends at this sad time.

We are deeply saddened of the passing of our very own Mr Renfrew, John McIntyre on Friday.

John was a stalwart of this club, his dedication to us was second to none. He had various roles within the club and we were delighted when we moved to New Western Park, that he had the honour of opening the ground.

To the McIntyre family, our sincere condolences and thanks for the time that John dedicated to our club.

Renfrew FC will shortly commence an exciting new season in the Lowland League West where we will be playing at a higher level, with increased visibility. Many interesting games with well supported local and Ayrshire teams - including the Celtic B Team - await us.

As such, we are able to offer a variety of sponsorship opportunities to individuals and Companies who want to support local grassroots football.

We’ve got the following available for sponsorship:

Training kit 1- £2085
Training kit 2- £1551
Away strip £901
Training balls are 10 for £210 (we usually have 30 a season)

The kit could be split between individuals or companies, so both would have their name/logo on them.

If you're interested in helping us, please drop us a line on [email protected] and we'll get in touch to discuss.

Thanking you in anticipation.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Moore from Gartcairn FC. Jordan is a prolific striker at this level and joins the Frew after spells at Bellshill Athletic, Fauldhouse Utd, Pollok FC, Cumnock Juniors, Darvel FC and Johnstone Burgh. He has proved to be a thorn in our side in the past, and we hope he can continue to provide firepower upfront in a Renfrew jersey.

We are also delighted to announce the signing of Olly Smith from Benburb. Olly is an attacking midfielder who can play anywhere across the line, and joins us after spending most of last season at Kilwinning Rangers, where he scored both Buffs goals in a 2-1 West of Scotland Cup match last season.

We look forward to seeing both players and wish them well in the new season at New Western Park. The management team are still looking to add further quality to the squad, and announcements will be made when that happens.
