Redcar Running Club We are a small, friendly running club based in Redcar Based at Redcar Cricket Club, we meet every Wednesday at 6.30pm for training runs.

We offer a warm welcome to runners of all abilities - whether you run for fun, fitness or to beat your PB, we can offer friendly advice, interval and track sessions and company on those longer runs.

RRC Weekly Round Up

A busy week to keep admin on their toes, with lots of races around the local area. Letโ€™s start with the popular Darlington 10k on Sunday, where we had 16 members taking on the two lap (undulating?) course on a very warm morning. A big well done to everyone that ran ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ

Also on Sunday, we had a great turnout of 8 members who โ€˜Ran the Raidโ€™ at the Lindesfarne Trail Half Marathon, a run of just under 14 miles starting in Spittal and ending on Holy Island โ€“ fantastic effort from everyone that ran ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

Last but certainly not least, we had Sarah and Julie representing the club at the South Shields 10 mile race โ€“ well done ladies ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Onto Tuesday, and the Ormesby Hall Summer Night Series came to its conclusion, where we had Michael and Simon running the 5k event โ€“ well done guys ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‘

Club training night on a windy ๐Ÿ’จWednesday evening, with four sessions to choose from and a good turnout โ€“ well done everyone ๐Ÿ’ช

Then on Thursday, it was a welcome return to racing for Lauren, and an ever present Michael, at the Darren Brant 5 Mile Memorial Race โ€“ great running ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

This weekend there are the Hardmoors Farndale โ›ฐ races taking place out of Hutton-le-Hole, where we have a number of members taking on the trails and hills ๐ŸŒ„

Admin is off to see Mickey Mouse ๐Ÿฐ so there will be a break in weekly round ups over the next few weeks

RRC Weekly Round Up

On Sunday, More Than a Run were celebrating their 8th year of the Ormesby10, and four members were spotted taking part. A big well done to Keith, Michael, Tony and Ali ๐Ÿ‘

Further afield there was the Easingwold 10k โ€“ a hilly run in warm conditions, so a very well done to Steve and Diane ๐Ÿ‘

One of our qualified run leaders Andy took some of our members on another club social run โ€“ this time leaving Skelton and heading to Guisborough woods and back โ€“ well done everyone ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’ช

Club training night on a muggy Wednesday evening saw the choice of three sessions with our run leaders โ€“ great efforts by everyone ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

This weekend we have two club trophy races with the popular Darlington 5k and 10k, as well as the York 10k ๐Ÿ†

On Saturday there is the Osmotherley Show Fell Race and on Tuesday, the Ormesby Hall Summer Night Series continues

RRC Weekly Round Up

A fairly busy week, starting on Saturday with some great running down in South Yorkshire, where we had Laura and Andy taking on the Manvers Dusk til Dawn โ€“ with the aim of running as many 3.21 Mile laps as you can manage in 12 hours, starting at 6pm and heading through the night until 6am! ๐Ÿ™ƒโ€“ Laura managed a fantastic 14 laps and 72km, with Andy still returning from injury with a solid 7 laps and 36km โ€“ brilliant effort guys ๐Ÿ’ช

On Sunday, we had two members who travelled North to run the Hexham 10k โ€“ a big well done to Michael and Claire ๐Ÿ‘

Rob was once again representing the club on the fells and took on the Ravenscar Rumble Revisited on Wednesday. Just short of 10km, but with nearly 1000ft of climb, albeit in lovely running conditions along the coast ๐ŸŒž โ€“ well done Rob ๐Ÿ‘

Club training night as usual on a Wednesday, down at our base of Redcar Cricket Club, with three sessions here and also one session away from the club at Saltburn - well done everyone ๐Ÿ˜€

Last night there was the fourth instalment of the Muddy Roads Summer Series at Flatts Lane. A great turnout of 13 members out on the hilly course on a very warm evening saw Shaun first home in 6th place overall, and another podium finish for Katherine who was 3rd lady ๐Ÿ‘ A fantastic effort from all our runners on a tough course ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’ช

This weekend there is a little run taking place over in the Lake District โ›ฐ๏ธ โ€“ good luck to one of our run leaders Brenda who is taking on the Lakeland 100 (again!) ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Also on Sunday there is the Ormesby10 who are celebrating their 8th birthday ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚, whilst some members are heading out for another club social run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ

RRC Weekly Round Up

A quiet weekend of racing so another club social run was organised, with Andy taking members on a trail run out of Great Ayton, finishing with cafe stop ๐Ÿฐโ˜•

A great turnout of 22 of our runners took on the NMH Coast Road 5k on Wednesday. Very good conditions, with just a slight breeze, saw plenty of PBโ€™s for our members and another V60 club record for chairman Paul ๐Ÿ‘

First male member across the line was Shaun and first female member was Lisa - a fantastic evening of racing and it was great seeing lots of club vests on show. Well done to everyone that raced ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

For those that werenโ€™t racing, there was an interval session on down at the club base (Redcar Cricket Club), with Richard leading the group for reps around the boating lake, well done guys ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

This weekend we have the Hexham 5k and 10k races, and next Thursday sees the next installment of the Muddy Roads series over at Flatts Lane with the Pine Forest 5k ๐ŸŒฒ

RRC Weekly Round Up

Last weekend saw Terry complete his 320th Marathon over in Austria at the Gletscher Marathon โ€“ and a third place age category finish ๐Ÿ† โ€“ a huge well done Terry ๐Ÿ‘

Also last weekend we had Russ taking on the Great North 10k up at Newcastle โ€“ great running Russ ๐Ÿ’ช

The More than a Run 5k trail series continued on Tuesday evening at Ormesby Hall, where we had a sole representative in Simon โ€“ well done ๐Ÿ‘

Last Sunday we had a club social run over in Guisborough Woods, with four members having a nice morning run out. These social runs are great for getting to know your fellow members and we hope to do as many of these as possible, working around race weekends

Club training night on Wednesday and four sessions to choose from on a very warm summers evening ๐ŸŒž These training sessions varied from easy runs, hill reps and an out and back ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

This weekend there is the RunThrough Newcastle 10k and HM taking place, whilst next Wednesday sees the NMH Summer Coast Road 5k, which is always well represented by the club

Last Thursday saw the 3rd race in the Muddy Roads Trail Series, taking place at Lord Stones Country Park. We had a magnificent turnout of 14 members taking on the hilly 5k route, with Shaun the first male member home in a great 4th position and Katherine finishing 3rd lady. Top running everyone ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

On Sunday there was the Mulgrave Castle 10k โ€“ a trail run with around 650ft of elevation - and our two representatives were Rob and Michael. We also had Keith and Tony at the More than a Run Ormesby 10k. Well done guys ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‘

Our sole traveller to the Bridges of Tyne 5 Mile race on Tuesday was Michael, adding to his amazing tally of races so far this year. A big well done ๐Ÿ™‚

A reduced number of members at club training on Wednesday due to a certain football match taking place, but those that attended had a choice of three sessions to choose from ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ

RRC Weekly Round Up

Bit of a catch up due to admin holidays ๐Ÿ˜Ž

On Sunday 14th June, the Hardmoors Wainstones event took place, and our sole representative was Matilda, who took on the 10k course. A big well done on what looked like a lovely morning out on the hills โ›ฐ๐Ÿ’ช

Club training on the Wednesday evening, with two sessions down at our base of Redcar Cricket Club, and one away at Saltburn โ€“ all catering for different abilities ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a great turnout of 19 members taking on the NMH Summer Coast Road 5 Mile, where we had PBโ€™s from Lisa, Claire and Jonny โ€“ great running guys ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Three club records were also broken โ€“ Lisa with a double achievement in the day with the F45-54 age category. Club chairman Paul improved his M60-69 record, and Peter improved his M70-79 record โ€“ massive well done ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

Last night there were three training sessions on down at the club. A very warm and sunny evening so nothing too intense, with a fair few also racing the next evening ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Tonight sees the next race in the Muddy Roads series over at Lordstones โ€“ a good turnout expected on what looks like is going to be a lovely sunny evening ๐ŸŒž

On Sunday there is the Morpeth 10k and Mulgrave Castle 10k events taking place, followed on Tuesday with the Bridges of Tyne 5 Mile race

RRC Weekly Round Up

A relatively quiet week on the race front so a shorter round up than usual, with no RRC members spotted at any events at the weekend โ€“ please let us know if you ran anywhere ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

On Tuesday, the popular Blaydon Race took place in Newcastle where we had 7 members running the 5.9 mile route along the River Tyne. A big well done to Elliot, Lisa, Lauren, Ali, Sarah, Lesley and Jayne ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

Club training on Wednesday saw a session down at our usual meeting place of Redcar Cricket Club, with a session also taking place up at New Marske Woods. An evening of heavy showers meant there were a lot of drenched runners ๐ŸŒงโ˜”๐ŸŒง

This weekend there are the Wainstones Hardmoors races, heading out of Chop Gate, the Bedale 10k and also the Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10k taking place
