A massive well done to Kev, Freya and Jordan who ran the London Marathon last weekend, an amazing experience for you all and a bucket list run ticked off the list ✅

Sticking with the Marathon distance, well done to Terry on yet another one – the European Marathon in Aveiro, Portugal 🌞

Closer to home, Lauren and Michael were in York for the TEWV 10K, and we had five members at the Ormesby10 – well done to Keith, Ian, Claire, Ali and Diane 🏃🏃‍♀️

Over the moors and not too far away, at Goathland – the Heartbeat Hobble Fell race took place and we had two members taking on the 12km route. Well done to Rob and Paul 💪

This week’s main club training sessions concentrated on speed, with a sprint session in Locke Park, and an interval session on a breezy seafront – well done to all members for their 100% effort as usual 👏

This weekend there are a few local races taking place, and we hope to have some members out in the blue and yellow at the Fox and Hounds Fell race, Kirkbymoorside 10k, and the Newcastle/Gateshead M/HM/10K. Next Wednesday we are sure to have a good turnout at the popular NMH Pie and Peas 5 Mile at Locke Park 😋

A few members out at the weekend that we spotted 🧐

On Saturday, Terry was at the See York Run York Farewell Challenge, completing 7 laps of an approx 3.8 mile course, and totalling around 26.6 miles! Well done Terry 💪

On Sunday, Ali represented RRC at the Manchester Marathon. A great run in the sunshine Ali, well done 🏅

Club training night this Wednesday was put aside and replaced by two club points races - NMH Spring Coast Road 5k and Muddy Roads Middridge 5k 🏆

We had a great turnout of 20 members at the NMH Spring Coast Road 5k – a special mention and big well done to Club Chairman Paul on yet another club V60 record. This follows his 5 mile club V60 record earlier in the month and a 10 mile club v60 record last month – great performances Paul! 👏

Slightly further afield at Middridge, the first race of the Muddy Roads 5k Summer Series took place, where we had 8 members donning the RRC jersey. A slightly shortened course than the usual but still great fun up the stairway to heaven 😤

This weekend there is a little run going on in London apparently – good luck to those taking on the London Marathon, all your training will pay off!

A few local events also, including the Ormesby10 and the Heartbeat Hobble Fell Race.

Well done to everyone that ran in the past week – let us know if you ran anywhere else, or if you’re running anywhere else this week! Good luck! 🏃💪🏃‍♀️

Last Sunday we had members taking part in a few events in the local area. Rob, Alison and Helen were on the moors at the Commondale Clart Fell Race, whilst we had Michael at the Vale of York 10 Mile 🏃‍♀️🏃

Wednesday saw the first club night since the clocks changed, and back to training in the light 🙌 A good turnout across the two main sessions 💪

Yesterday was the popular NMH Easter Coast Road 5 Mile, where we had a brilliant turnout of 22 members, on a very windy Good Friday morning. Great to see so many runners wearing the RRC vest, and a fantastic event organised by New Marske Harriers - has everyone scoffed their chocolate eggs yet?
