Match Report 13th November 2025
Portland Panthers Reserves 6 Witchampton 4
Portland Panthers Reserves ended 2025 with a well earned victory over Witchampton. The teams had played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season so this was always going to be a tough game. New signing Charlie Mussenden opened the scoring in the first minute with a long range effort, but this was cancelled out soon after with an equaliser from Witchampton. Matt Jones restored the lead with a calm finish inside the box, and Panthers captain Hayden Winter gave them some breathing room with his 2nd goal of the season on the half hour mark. An outstanding save form new keeper Jack Espley kept the visitors out, along with some top quality defending from centre back pairing Dylan Holmes and Leo Young. The Panthers enjoyed a lot of possession but couldnβt capitalise on that and it was Witchampton who got the next goal, before a brace from 16 year old Alfie Porter made it 5-2 with 10 minutes to go, seemingly closing out the game. Witchampton had other ideas and 2 goals in a minute saw them reduce the deficit to 1 goal. However, a fine header at the back post form Kai Franklin in the 88th minute gave him his first goal for the club and a massive 3 points for the team.
The First teams fixture was unfortunately called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Panther's wish all Supporters a Happy Christmas π
