Pontypool junior parkrun Free, weekly, timed 2k run for 4-14 year olds. Our future roster can be found here http://www.parkrun.org.uk/pontypool-juniors/futureroster/

This is a FREE, weekly, timed 2k run for 4-14 year olds held every Sunday at 9am. All you need to do is register once with parkrun.org.uk and bring your printed barcode to your chosen event. There's also a 5k event held every Saturday at 9am in Pontypool park.

Marking Volunteer Week - We are lucky to have an amazing core team of volunteers at Pontypool junior parkrun who turn up week in, week out, in all winds and weathers to make sure our youngsters get their junior parkrun. I won’t name them because I am sure to forget someone, but you know who you are.

Junior parkrun report for 31st May 2026.

What a great morning at Pontypool Junior parkrun, where 65 children turned out to run around our beautiful park.

We welcomed 13 first timers: Ioan, Daisy, Nia, Ellis, Rosie, Chloe, Marnie, Toby, Ollie, Isaac, Matilda Rose, Thea and Daisy. We hope you
enjoyed your run and look forward to welcoming you again next week.

Well done to all our junior parkrunners on completing the course. It was a morning for speedy finishes with no less than 19 PBs, achieved by: Elliott, Teddy, Quinn, Albert, Ellis, Daniel, Caleb, Ayden, Rory, Zach, Archie, Evie, Caiden, Jonathan, Greyson, Finley, Charlotte, Sophia and Megan. Whew!!

Edward received his ultra marathon band for completing 50 junior parkruns- many congratulations.

This event would not be possible without the help of all our wonderful volunteers. Today our Hi Viz heroes were: Elizabeth Davies, Jamie Edwards, Jodi Westmacott, Deb Clarke, Ella Watkins, Peter Carnegie, Sue Graham, Amie Fenwick, Greg Graham, Dale Howells, Amelia Newey, Joy Perkins, Victoria Smith, Claire Westmacott, Violet Westmacott-James, Albert Hurford, Sarah Hurford and Mary Murray.
