WATBus Community Transport
Project Coordinator — Community Transport Network for Northumberland
Three-year fixed-term contract | Salary: £30,000–£33,000, depending on experience.
Are you an organised and enthusiastic person who is passionate about helping communities stay connected? WATBus Community Transport is seeking a Project Coordinator to support an exciting three-year project to develop a Community Transport Organisation Network across Northumberland.
About WATBus and the project:
For 26 years, WATBus has provided flexible, accessible transport for people whose needs are not met by mainstream services. Through this new Motability-funded project, we will help strengthen community transport across Northumberland by supporting local organisations, volunteers and partners to share good practice, improve services and identify gaps in provision.
As Project Coordinator, you will help develop and promote the Northumberland Community Transport Organisation Network, coordinate training and events, support volunteers, liaise with Community Transport Organisations and represent WATBus at local, regional and national events. You will also help identify opportunities to develop services such as voluntary car schemes, shopping shuttles and other community transport initiatives.
About you:
We are looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, along with experience of working with communities, volunteers or partner organisations. You will be committed to improving access to essential services for people who may be isolated, excluded or unable to use mainstream transport.
What you’ll bring:
Knowledge of the voluntary & community sector, volunteer support. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in improving community transport across Northumberland and making a real difference to people’s independence, wellbeing and ability to take part in community life.
