Just a few days to go until the inaugural Park Horticultural Show on Sunday 13th September!

The Show opens at 12, but don't forget exhibits need to be at the tent by 11:30. Categories include fruit, vegetables, flowers, pickles, baked goods - even knitted or crocheted examples! There's also a section for the under-16s with some really fun categories to enter! Entries are still being accepted, and full details can be found on the Facebook link below, or on the posters, which you can find around The Park. Judging will take place at 13:00.

This event has been moved from Newcastle Circus to the Park Hive, and it's a great opportunity to also see what’s happening at this fabulous community space, which will be open all afternoon with drinks & cakes in the Tea House, as well as craft activities later on.

As you can see, the Hive also has a new volunteer! Now all we need is a name for them - we've already decided against Strawie McStrawface. Any suggestions?

The Met Office are forecasting a sunny afternoon, which is very apt as Dr Ali Noaman of Clinica Vitalis will be at the Hive talking about UV exposure and other things that affect your skin.

The short talk will be followed by the opportunity for a complimentary facial skin analysis using advanced imaging. Children can learn about the sun while making jewellery with UV-sensitive beads. All attendees will receive a goodie bag!

Delighted to welcome Eddie and Sally Dorling and their niece Alison Waller to the Hive. Eddie was keen to see the bowling green, which he played on many times twenty five years ago. They are visiting the area from Oxfordshire and he spent some time reminiscing about matches against the Nottinghamshire Vice-Presidents Bowling Association which was based here.

The tea room is open until 5 pm so do come down and join us.

The first of many exciting new events coming to Park Hive!

Eleanor Rashid is an Early Years music practitioner with over a decade of experience, specialising in gentle, child-led and parent-focused music making. She has led sessions across London as part of the NHS-funded perinatal mental health programme Music at Heart with Creative Futures, bringing a warm, thoughtful and deeply grounded approach to her early-years classes.

Eleanor created Songs and Sounds especially for babies under 12 months and their parents. Combining gentle sound-healing practices with live acoustic music, each session features chants from around the world alongside joyful, well-loved songs, creating a relaxed and nurturing space for parents and babies to connect and bond.

Since launching in April, Songs and Sounds has quickly become one of Nottingham’s most popular and sought-after baby music classes, with sessions selling out every week.

Now, Eleanor is delighted to bring Songs and Sounds to its beautiful new home at The Park Hive from October.

Doors open at 10:30am, giving you plenty of time to park your pram comfortably, enjoy some food or a drink from the Tea House, and chat with other parents before the music begins at 11:00am. Each session is £10 and lasts 45 minutes.
