We met so many enthusiastic, excited and engaged young people at yesterday’s STEM fair at Leicester Grammar School.
Too windy to get Betty out for our planned tether, we instead welcomed plenty of children and their parents into the basket to have a go on the burners. Almost four canisters emptied over six hours!
We also managed to showcase Bertie inside - although to paraphrase Roy Scheider, we’re gonna need a bigger hall!
Thanks as ever to the school team for making us so welcome.

Hot air balloon pilots have to undertake a flight with an instructor every four years to demonstrate their knowledge and flying skills and ensure they continue to meet requirements in order to maintain their licences.
So earlier this week on a cold, misty, frosty morning pilot Neil did just that and he’s good to go for another four years!

Do you need your next Betty fix? We have just the thing!

The good weather earlier this week has definitely been teasing us but unfortunately the ground is still too waterlogged for Betty to come out and play.

But that’s not going to stop Bertie, our remote-controlled model balloon and Betty replica!

We’ll be at the Griffins Head in Papplewick tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) so come and see us!
