💙XP YOUTH CLUB IS NOW RUNNING 3 DAYS A WEEK! 💙

Switch Up XP Youth Club is now running every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening, giving young people more chances to get involved in positive activities, meet new people and enjoy a safe, welcoming space in their community.

By creating positive environments and strong relationships, we can help young people step away from negative influences and towards positive role models, new experiences and friendships that can make a real difference.

From boxing and gaming to music, food and activities that build confidence and life skills, there’s plenty to get stuck into!

Whether you’re already part of XP or thinking about coming along for the first time, we’d love to see you there.

📍 Is really the fourth most challenging place in England for a child to grow up?

Switch Up’s Poppy Flint and some of the young people we support recently spoke to BBC Politics Live East Midlands about the Children’s Commissioner’s report, The Childhood Lottery, which ranked Nottingham fourth in England.

Behind that statistic are real young people and families facing inequalities that shouldn’t be accepted simply because of where they live.

One of the young people shared how his relationship with filmmaker Shane Meadows had inspired him to pursue his own ambition of becoming a filmmaker. 🎬

It’s a great example of what can happen when someone believes in a young person, helps them see what’s possible and gives them the chance to take that first step.

At Switch Up, we see the impact of poverty, disadvantage, trauma and limited opportunities every day. We work alongside young people facing challenges at school and at home, as well as the risks of exploitation, crime and violence. Through mentoring, counselling, education, boxing and youth work, we help them build confidence, improve their wellbeing and access opportunities for the future.

And we see something else every day, too: talent, resilience and ambition.

Nottingham doesn’t lack talented young people. Too many simply lack access to the opportunities and support they deserve.

That’s why investment in early intervention, youth services, safe community spaces and long-term support matters. Young people need somewhere to go, people they can trust and opportunities to discover what they’re capable of.

We’re proud of Nottingham and its communities. This ranking should be a reason to take action, not a label that defines our city or its children.

Our young people should be defined by their potential, not their postcode. And it’s up to all of us to help create the opportunities they need to thrive. ❤️

It was a pleasure to welcome Mayor of the East Midlands Claire Ward to our Switch Up Community Hub in Mansfield!

A great opportunity to showcase the work we are doing across Nottingham and Mansfield to tackle the root causes of poverty, crime and disadvantage, while helping young people and families build brighter futures through education, training and employment.

We also had some really positive conversations about how we can work together to create more opportunities and make a lasting difference across the East Midlands.

A huge thank you to Richard Donovan, Vice Chair of our Community Hub Advisory Board, for joining us and sharing our vision for the future.

Thank you to Mayor Claire Ward for taking the time to visit, listen and recognise the incredible work of our team. We look forward to building on these conversations! 🙌

We are delighted to announce our new Charity Partnership with Mansfield Town Football Club! 🟡🔵

Two organisations rooted in the community, united by a shared commitment to creating brighter futures for young people and families across Mansfield. 💙

The partnership officially launched at the Stags’ recent home fixture against Oxford United.

Through our Mansfield Community Hub, Switch Up supports young people affected by crime, violence, poverty and disadvantage, providing mentoring, education, counselling, physical activity and pathways into employment.

Working alongside Mansfield Town FC, we hope to build on this work by using the power of sport, positive role models and new experiences to raise aspirations, strengthen wellbeing and help young people reach their full potential.

Our Parnership with Nottingham Forest is well and truly creating magic moments. For many of the young people we support, attending a football match, meeting their heroes or stepping onto the pitch is something they have never experienced.

Through Nottingham Forest’s Magic Moments campaign, these dreams have become a reality.

At Switch Up, we support young people affected by crime, violence, poverty and disadvantage. Opportunities like these go beyond football, helping build confidence, inspire aspirations and connect young people with positive role models.

Every young person deserves the chance to dream big and reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstances.
