In Episode 2 of Under The Hood, Swich Up CEO and host, Marcellus Baz, sits down with two people working to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing our communities today: mental health.

Joining Baz are:

• Mark Platt, Founder of The Men's Room and CEO of ICS Professional Services Ltd, and

• Dr Saima Masud, Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

In what is perhaps our most powerful episode yet, Mark speaks openly and honestly about his own mental health journey, sharing the struggles he faced behind closed doors, the impact it had on his life, and the strength it took to reach out for support.

Alongside Dr Masud's expert insight, this is a conversation about stigma, resilience, vulnerability and why talking about mental health can save lives.

At Under The Hood, we're interested in the conversations that don't always make the headlines. The realities people live with. The challenges our communities face. And the stories that can inspire change.

⚽🌳 Not a bad place for a training session...

Last week, Switch Up brought a group of our young people to Nottingham Forest FC Nottingham Forest for a special training session on the City Ground pitch with Forest's coaching team.

From practising their skills on the hallowed turf to soaking up every moment of the experience, it was a day packed with smiles, confidence-building and memories that will last a lifetime.

For many of our young people, opportunities like this simply wouldn't be possible without partners who genuinely care about their community. That's why we're incredibly grateful to Nottingham Forest FC for continuing to open doors, create incredible memories for vulnerable children and inspire the next generation.

Forest have been welcoming our young people and their families to matches through their Magic Moments initiative this season - and also creating unforgettable experiences like this.

A huge thank you to everyone at the club for inviting us to another special day.

This time, we’re hearing directly from the young people at the heart of the campaign.

Created in partnership with Experian, and using the voices of the young people we support, Switch Up Money Talks is designed to open up honest conversations around money and make financial literacy more accessible for the next generation.

In our latest Youth Voice video, young people share their own thoughts, experiences and perspectives on money - from the pressures they face, to why understanding finances matters for their future.

Too often, young people aren’t given the opportunity, confidence or space to talk openly about money. But these conversations matter. Financial literacy can help build independence, confidence and real opportunities for the future.

This campaign is about making financial education relatable, accessible and something everyone can connect with.

Positive spaces create positive futures.

Too often, we judge young people by their actions without considering the environments, challenges or lack of opportunity which has shaped them.

The reality is, when young people have safe spaces, positive role models, and people who believe in them, they are far more likely to thrive than get drawn into trouble.

That’s what Switch Up XP is all about.

A place where young people can channel their energy positively - through fitness, music, creativity, conversation and community. A place to feel supported, valued, and connected.

Because prevention starts long before crisis.
