Tomorrow night the Toy Library are running their annual Winter Woodland Walk, this is a lovely evening for local families and children, with Christmas lights in the trees, a huge lit Christmas tree, the secret winter tiki torch pond, a huge bonfire for roasting marshmallows and fun woodland activities for the kids.

And so far (fingers crossed) it looks like we've got good weather for the day!

This year you'll find the club staff in our new winter cabin in the woods playing some Christmas tunes and handing out free food to the children, with Jacket Potatoes with festive Turkey and Cranberry Chilli, Hot Tomato & Basil Soup, and home-made gingerbread cookies! There may be a little present for the children too! Adults are of course welcome to food too for a small donation to the toy library.

Free parking is available at the top of the park near barkers wood or down in the golf club car park.

The Woodland walk runs from 3:30pm - 5:30pm and is the perfect way to start the Christmas season and best of all... this event is entirely FREE!

The Toy Library staff donate their time and energies to bring a little Christmas magic to local families and we're always happy to support them. We hope we get to see as many of you as possible tomorrow night!

This week to celebrate St Andrews Day we have fresh Scottish Roast Lamb on the carvery, alongside British Rib-Eye beef and Norfolk Turkey.

This week's desserts include fruit strudel, and to continue our Scottish theme ... gingerbread sponge filled with Scotch whiskey caramel!

Great weather and growing season is definitely in full swing, a busy few days for the greenskeepers getting the course ready to host the England & Wales Blind Golf Chairman’s Cup 2025 on Sunday!

Looking ahead next week temperatures are due to soar into the mid 20’s so it’s time to dust off your clubs and get a round in and our on course drinks service will be out and about to keep your swing well lubricated!

I think our first weekend morning 4-Ball, Terry, Terry, John and Paul could give him a run for his money, regularly coming in under 2hrs 45 mins. Just something to consider when being asked to keep up speed of play, it can be done! But even if you do come in under 4 hours we promise not to tell the better half it doesn’t take 6 😉🍻

Lightning Luke breaks the record! ⏱️🏌️

Huge congratulations to PGA Pro, Luke Willett, on setting a new world record for the fastest 18-hole round of golf! 🙌

Attempted at the Horton Smith Golf Course during the Missouri Speedgolf Open, Luke set the new world-fastest time of 36 minutes and 04 seconds - which was witnessed and recognised officially by the International Speed-Golf Association (ISGA).

The world-record 18-hole round was played as part of the wider tournament, where Willett played two 18-hole rounds using just one golf club!

Luke commented: ‘’I’m ecstatic to have set the world record today for the fastest 18-hole round of golf, and to bring another Speed-Golfing accolade under my belt."
