If your goal is to lose fat, do these things firstโฆ
Stop thinking that endless cardio is the answer. Spending hours running, jumping around, and trying to burn as many calories as possible often leaves people exhausted, hungry, and frustrated. Instead, focus on sustainable activity that you can stick to long term. Strength training is one of the best tools available. It helps you build and maintain muscle, improves your body composition, and keeps you active without feeling like you're constantly punishing yourself for what you're trying to lose.
Take an honest look at your calorie intake. Fat loss doesn't mean dropping from 3,500 calories a day straight down to 1,200. Extreme restrictions usually lead to cravings, poor adherence, and eventually another binge. A much better approach is to create a manageable calorie deficit that allows you to make progress while still enjoying your food and maintaining your energy levels.
Most people don't struggle because they need a better fat-burning workout. They struggle because the weekends, late-night snacks, takeaways, liquid calories, and "cheat meals" are wiping out the hard work they're putting in during the week. Before worrying about supplements, fasted cardio, or complicated diet plans, identify the habits that are causing you to overeat and start addressing them.
Fat loss isn't about suffering harder. It's about creating habits that you can repeat consistently for months, not days. Lift weights, stay active, eat enough protein, manage your calorie intake, and focus on fixing the behaviours that have been holding you back.
The boring basics work. They always have.
