Players working on coordination, passing, striking and winning their 1v1s.

Each session is planned to promote consistent development in an environment where mistakes are encouraged, growing player confidence to try things to make a a positive impact on their game.

What you eat — and when you eat — can make a huge difference to your energy and recovery.

Use this simple guide 👇

🕒 3 hours before
Focus on protein + healthy fats
🍗 Chicken, turkey or eggs
🥑 Avocado
🥜 Nuts or nut butter
🥣 Greek yoghurt

🕑 2 hours before
Choose complex carbohydrates for steady energy
🍝 Pasta or rice
🍞 Wholegrain bread 
🥔 Potatoes or sweet potatoes


🕐 1 hour before
Go for simple, easy-to-digest carbs
🍌 Banana
🍎 Apple
🍊 Oranges
🍯 Honey on toast
🍪 Plain cereal bar

⏱ During
Quick simple sugars + fluids to maintain energy
💧 Water or non-fizzy sports drink

⏸ Half Time
Top up energy with fast carbs
🍌 Banana
🍊 Orange segments
🍬 Jelly babies / Haribo

🏁 After (within 2 hours)
Combine carbs + protein for recovery
🍗 Chicken & rice

First session back, kicking off 2026 with Hearts Pro Youth Academy player Luke and Momentum’s own Nate, dusting off their skills ahead of returning to training after a well deserved break over Christmas!

At Momentum we fully believe that guided learning creates knowledge that sticks. Asking open questions, giving the player the space and time to think and form their own answer allows them to retain that knowledge quickly.
