🦢 Club Captains Welcome Back 🦢

Dear Members,

The long, sweaty summer break is over and we can finally, officially, welcome rugby back down at Riverwoods!

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable few weeks and are raring to go for the upcoming season. I’m excited to spend the next few weeks popping down on Sundays to watch some training and/or games! Please feel free to come and have a chat with me if you see me.

You’ll notice some significant changes around the club if you haven’t visited in a while. Firstly, Cultivate Gym is up and running and is already firmly a wonderful asset to have at the club. The gym area has been completely redeveloped and is now run by Cultivate. Please pop over to check it out and say hi to Will and the team.

Secondly, the Brolly Bar has had a serious facelift! A welcoming area now that will be up and in use in the near future!

The clubhouse itself has also been redecorated, fresh lick of paint and now looking and feeling new and improved. The next steps in the redecorating will be in the men’s toilets which will be getting a well needed overhaul in the coming weeks so watch this space, and the Members Bar/Side Room, will be getting a makeover, with hopes to get as many team photos up on the walls from over the years, canvases of action shots from across the club and a more homely feel for our members to enjoy. Minis & Youth Rugby kicks off again THIS SUNDAY! An exciting season ahead starts this weekend and it is gonna be awesome to see all your faces back at Riverwoods!

Our AUTUMN concerts start on Thursday 24th September at our regular venue of Marlow Rugby Club. We had a fabulous gig in July with requests and a tribute to our great supporter John Thornton. John was there since 1986, the year the band first started. So without John this time but his spark and spirit will be always be with us. Come along and see why John loved this Band so much. The band is a collection of very talented individuals and I always think it's a total pleasure to hear them. Why not come along and enjoy some outstanding music. Bring a friend or a whole gaggle of friends. We have some great evenings. Don't forget that there is food available - PIZZAS - all evening. Make this an event not to be missed.

Standards were set this evening as a physical shortened game took place, Marlow White vs Marlow Gold.

A great first hit out for the lads, lots of positives to take away!

Couple of quiet weeks now before the final pre season test against Hammersmith & Fulham on the 19th at Maidenhead Rugby Club.

🚨 MATCHDAY SQUADS 🚨

This evening will see the first foray into actual game time for some of Senior Men’s Squad.

An opportunity to put into practice all the hard work from the past two months!

We do recognise we are missing a lot of new head shots… but mystery is always good fun as well?

If you intend to come to spectate please bare in mind the following things:

- It is two 20 minute halves, the game will be played to as close to a proper match as possible.
- Parking is limited, please endeavour to park away from the school grounds and walk in.
- There are no refreshments on site so bring your own, strictly no drinking alcohol, smoking or va**ng.
