No membership is required for Food & Drink just pop in & sit in the main room or the balcony. The first ten years were spent elsewhere but in 1903 the club moved to the land on which the course is now played. Over the years extra land has been purchased, the holes changed and improved until you come to the course as it is today. Many people set out to play a gentle parkland course thinking that this will be easy. Well... if you hit the ball straight you're part way there; if you don't there are trees, bushes and nameless other things in the very spots where you don't want them. It could be said that position is the key to golf at Flixton. On the other hand, Flixton is one of the longest courses in the area so straightness isn't enough; if you can't hit a long ball you won't get up. In short, Flixton is a good test of golf. If you can score well at Flixton you know how to play. Indeed as you play the first three holes you can blame, at least in part, the famous George Duncan, Open Winner and Ryder Cup Captain, who helped in the design.

What a fantastic day! ⛳️

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our annual St Michael’s Church Golf Tournament at Flixton Golf Club. It was a brilliant day of friendship, fun and some excellent golf.

Our sincere thanks also go to Flixton Golf Club for their generosity in allowing us to use their wonderful course and facilities. Chev and the whole team looked after us superbly, and we are so grateful for your warm hospitality.

A big thank you as well to Clubhouse Golf for generously providing the prizes, and to golf professional Jack Brooks for kindly offering free golf lessons to the losing team, a prize they may appreciate more than they’d like to admit! 😄

Seven teams took part, and the competition couldn’t have been closer. Two teams finished tied on 89 points, leading to a tense one hole playoff. Congratulations to Mark Williamson’s team, who held their nerve to claim the title.

Everyone was a winner today, but above all, golf was the real winner!
