It’s official our 10k race has now sold out 🙌🏻
We can’t wait to see you all there on Sunday 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️. All race confirmation and details have now been emailed out to all entrants.

Conditions are looking to be ☀️ so please look after yourselves and wear sun cream and keep yourself hydrated. There will be water stations on the course. Plus lots of Harriers cheering you all round.

And don’t forgot your post run 🍰 littlefantfarm our lovely venue for the morning.

🖤🤍💚MEMBER OF THE MONTH 💚🤍🖤

Debbie Addison, nominated for her grit, determination and digging deep to make one of the world’s most famous marathon start lines. Debbie had one of our club places for the London Marathon and despite injuries, set backs, life getting in the way and thoughts of deferral, ran an incredible marathon. Debbie proved to herself that with helpful guidance, friendly training runs and knowing she had the whole club cheering her on, 'she can do hard things' and come out the other side feeling incredible.

I’m from Ashford and still live here for the moment.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 club?

I’m a Registered Advanced Veterinary Nurse, specialising in exotics. Anything from rabbits to primates and even leopards.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 running?

Running has given me the confidence to step outside of my comfort zone in all walks of life. The social aspect is incredible but also learning to enjoy the peace of running alone has been an incredible journey.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁* 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀?

Meeting a bunch of incredible people and gaining life long friends has easily been the best part of the Harriers. It turns out you don’t have to be the best to run, and the club has helped me become the best version of myself.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?

Running the London marathon this year is without a doubt my best sporting achievement. Despite being scheduled for shoulder surgery on a torn bicep tendon and having MCL issues, the club helped me to reach the start line and I finished with the greatest feeling of pride I have ever experienced.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁?

That’s got to be ‘Let’s do this’ by the Outskirts

Going to a cafe or a pub and ordering the biggest slice of cake I can find… (I will always run for cake)

It was a wet and windy weekend, but that didn’t stop Maidstone Harriers from getting out there at events near and far. It was a busy one!!

SATURDAY
💚 A strong Harriers team took on Harvel 5, with Louisa Metcalf, Alice Pledger-Reid, Liz Dunk, Janette Lillis, Ari Kotsis, Camilla Hilland-Lamprell, Jamie Stewart and Sam Edwards all braving the elements.
💚 Closer to home, Harriers helped celebrate the 4th birthday parkrun at Mote Park.
💚 Michael White tackled the GBUltra Scotland 100 Miler.
💚 Nigel Finley took on the Blenheim Palace Sprint Triathlon.
💚 Robert Boorer completed the Endurance Life Classic Quarter, a challenging 44-mile coastal ultra in Cornwall.

SUNDAY
💚 Tim Hilder, Barrie Prowse, Ian Forrest and Anthony Warren were all in action at the Cotswold 113 Middle Distance Triathlon.
💚 James Knight took on the Bewl Swimrun.
💚 Charlotte Johnston, Emma Brenton, Jack Barden, David Hubble and Holly Pan completed the Endure24 challenge, while Ryan Worsley also took part in the event as part of a pair team.
💚 Mike Murdoch ran the Weald Challenge Trail Half Marathon.
💚 Craig Barden completed an incredible three marathons in three days in America as part of the Bear Lake Trifecta Marathon series.
💚 Kieron Palmer, Peter Fisher, Paul Ahsunollah, Rich Ellison and James Cockerham represented the club at the Staplehurst 10K.
💚 In the Staplehurst 5K, Dan Patient and Paul Ahsunollah both secured first place in their age categories, while Steve Peach finished in an excellent second place.
💚 Darryn and Lizzie Ashford competed in the White Oak Triathlon.
💚 Ellie Broom ran the Dorking 10 Mile race.
💚 Michelle Johnston completed the Four Bays Challenge.

🥵 ☀️ Hottest week of the year 🎉 . . Our Maidstone Harriers were still out in force putting in some fantastic performances.

⭐️ Congratulations to Charlotte Bates on completing her 400th parkrun at mote park on Saturday 👏🏻

Also on Saturday the Embrace Ultra Three Castles which was a tough one in the ☀️
🏰 50km distance: Aaron Baker, Anthony Bishop, Damo, Dan Patient, Harry Sims, Mark Godden, Tim Phur, Martin Jones, Richard Poole, Christine Moses, Joanna Smit, Nicola Garland, Revati Poole, Mervyn Booth, Kate Philips - Barrett, Liz Dunk, Charlotte Johnston, Tiffany Rookledge, Jessica Howson, Andrews Burgess, Matt Hooper, Steven Scott. Special mention to Liv who tackled some of the course.
🏰 30km distance: Laura Webb, Mia Stockwell, Ruth Houillon and Terry Lynch

⭐️ Charlotte Johnston came 2nd overall and 1st female. Aaron Baker 3rd overall and 2nd male. Out on course volunteering was Tim Hilder, Kerry Underdown, Nigel, Paul Day, Nick Bailey.

⭐️ Another mighty challenge was the 3 peaks which Steve Golding took on ⛰️

⭐️ Folkestone coastal 10k: Lisa Chambers, Daren Chambers, James Cockerham and Ash Duckenfield

⭐️ Russet Runners Marden 10k: Kieron Palmer, Sian Knight-James, Amelia Porter, Imogen Goldsmith, Ethan Damiral, Harry Bamblett, Mike Smith and Rich Ellison

This weekend was a scorcher but it didn't stop the Harriers from getting out in the sunshine and we saw some exceptional performances in tough conditions - huge well done everyone!

💚 There was some Parkrun tourism at Portobello parkrun in Edinburgh

💚 Also in Edinburgh, Sally Howson and Ivonne did Edinburgh 5k on Saturday

💚 Sunday then saw several Harriers run the Edinburgh marathon including Rob Dunhill. Phil Wiltshire, Boba, Andy Roberts, Sam Bassett, Liz Dunk and Terry Lynch

💚 Gavin Vallely did the Great West Half in Exeter and scooped up a PB

💚 Lizzie and Darren Ashford did the standard tri at Bewl

💚 There were also various social runs across the weekend as well as our Time Trial at track night on Tuesday

A huge weekend of running, cycling and triathlon action for the Harriers! 👏

SATURDAY
💚 David Thwaites, Michael White & Ivonne Goetsch completed The Lap — an incredible 47-mile race around Lake Windermere.
💚 Harriers headed off on parkrun tourism to Dover, where Nick Bailey celebrated his 100th parkrun 🎉
💚 Andy Roberts & Andrew Burgess took on the No Man’s Land 2 challenge - marathon distance for Andrew and approximately 40 miles for Andy - coming in first place🥇 💪

SUNDAY
💚 18 Harriers took part in the East Grinstead Triathlon 🏊🚴🏃
💚 Ari Kotsis took part in the Darent Valley 10K
💚 Aimee Dunger achieved a PB at the Bristol Half Marathon.
💚 Danny Hobbs & James Knight both secured PBs at the Maidstone Riverside 10 Miler 👏
💚 Tony Potter & Anthony Bishop completed the “On Your Bike” 30-mile charity ride as part of the Gravesend Rotary Charity event.
💚 Justyna Turl ran the Run Gatwick Half Marathon ✈️
