Maidstone Rugby Club is proud to announce the successful installation of brand-new, professional-standard goal posts at its home ground, purpose-built to serve the club and its community for the next 50 years. The milestone infrastructure upgrade was made possible entirely through the dedication of club volunteers, with Vice President Martin Maytum recognised as the driving force behind the initiative.
The new installation represents a lasting investment in the club’s future, benefiting the 1st XV, senior men’s and women’s sides and youth sections, and all visiting teams for generations to come.
“This is far more than a routine upgrade — it is a legacy investment,” said a club spokesperson. “These posts will stand tall on our pitch for half a century, a constant reminder of what our community can achieve when we pull together. Every conversion, every penalty, and every try celebrated beneath them will carry the effort of everyone who helped make this happen.”
The project was delivered through the hard work of a committed team of volunteers, who gave their time, skill, and effort to support site preparation, installation works, and logistics. The club extends its deepest gratitude to every volunteer who contributed, whose tireless work ensured the project was delivered on time and to the highest standard.
Special recognition is extended to Vice President Martin Maytum, who led the project from concept to completion. Martin coordinated supplier arrangements, managed the planning and budget process, and was on-site throughout the installation to oversee every detail. His leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment were instrumental in turning the vision into reality.
