🌈 PROUD doesn’t even begin to cover it. 🌈
We’ve received our NODA review for The Wizard of Oz and I genuinely felt quite emotional reading it. 🥹💚
These children were just 4–11 years old. FOUR to ELEVEN! And to read such thoughtful, generous words about their performances, their characterisation, their confidence, their humour, their commitment and — perhaps most importantly — the way they supported one another… my heart is absolutely bursting.
This show was such a special one. There was something genuinely magical about watching our youngest performers find their confidence, take risks, tell a story and completely throw themselves into the wonderful world of Oz. ✨
To have our ensemble described as “absolutely fantastic”, with a “clear sense of community on stage”; to read about the “beautiful atmosphere of teamwork and mentorship” between our older and younger children; and to see their hard work summed up as a “celebration of creativity, community, and youthful talent” means more than I can say.
Because THAT is what we want Perform Studios Academy to be. ❤️
A place where children can learn. A place where they can be brave. A place where they can be silly, creative and completely themselves. A place where the older ones lift up the younger ones and everybody gets their moment to shine.
And then, on a completely personal note… forgive me a little proud Mum moment. 🥹🩶
Seeing Fletcher singled out for his performance as the Tin Woodman absolutely got me. Reading that he brought “gentle sincerity”, “humour and heart” to the role, that his scenes were “consistently engaging” and that his musical moments were delivered with “clarity and confidence”… yep. That one finished me off. 😭😂
I spend so much of my life being proud of other people’s children that every now and then I’m allowed to shout about my own. 😂 And I am SO proud of him. 🩶
To every single child who stepped onto that stage: look what you did. You created something joyful, funny, warm and full of heart — and somebody sitting in that audience saw all of it.
What an absolute delight you are.
There really is no place like Perform. 🌈✨💚
