I’ve seen a lot of clients diaries.

They are usually absolutely rammed with back to back meetings.

I was told by one that he gets 50 emails to clear before 9am.

These guys operate at a different level.

Always ā€œONā€

I don’t even bother scheduling training on Monday and Tuesday.

It’s actually not the priority. Yep. You read that right.

For many of them I start the training week on a Wednesday. When the brunt is over and there is genuine headspace to get in and do training without being anxious to look at the emails…

So they train Wed,Fri and Sat or Sun in the AM before work or family commitments.

And still get results… because if you are getting 8-12 sessions a month done. Who cares what day they are on.

Adaptations take time

Nutrition requires a strategy and tactics to not be derailed.

Going to bed early requires intention.

You aren’t going to find that in another book you won’t read.

Success leaves clues.

Those who show up consistently.

Train well and train hard enough…

Eat and Recover with presence.

That is what gets results.

I promise you that 99% of what you see on the internet wasn’t designed for you.

Training in the real world is highly constrained.

Time and the recoverable volume of high performers is genuinely limited.

So when you see 6 day a week training or double days being done by people who seem to think that is what is needed it’s genuinely laughable.

My guys aren’t in the track at 11am. They are in the office or WFH building a career or business that supports their family.

Training is supplemental to provide physical robustness and the ENERGY to be able to tolerate high cognitive work loads.

If you attempt to do a program for a 25 year old with no kids, no real responsibilities, no business and who can sleep 9 hours uninterrupted.

It’s not going to be sustainable.

No one said you should’t train hard.

But you are going to need to manage sessions and training with a far longer view.

I know I’ve done both.

I’m 36 next month… 22-25 year old me was made of rubber.

Accepting that you are a finite being and training in a way that leaves a little in the legs for the next session will serve you far better…

The most important thing with being on genuinely good shape.

Is knowing how to create rhythm.

How to find order in chaos.

How to calm overwhelm and take action.

If your life is so overwhelming that you can’t recover from it. How do you expect it will handle training?

Sleep, Nutrition and time with your family away from the scroll, spreadsheets and a screen that will not love you back. That is the foundation.

Put good training on that. You’ve got something.

You’ll never miss another session again.

IF you actually have a program.

IF you treat them as a list of sequential sessions rather than tied strictly to a calendar.

A 4 week program done over 5.5 or 6 weeks will still have a training effect & you will feel like you are building momentum and completing things rather than falling behind or failing.
