Want to get stronger and build muscle? You gotta be progressively overloading. A fancy way of saying gradually making your workouts more challenging over time (tougher movements, more weight, more reps, more tempo) instead of always grabbing the same 6kg pair of dumbbells 👀

Training on an empty stomach because you think it’ll burn more fat? You can eat breakfast, we promise! In fact, your workout will feel MUCH better if you do! Carbs are our body preferred energy source and fat loss comes down to our overall energy balance, not just energy burned during our training sessions!

We wish it was that easy … building a significant amount of muscle takes time, consistency, progressive overload (see slide 1!!) and enough food to support it.

You’re not going to accidentally wake up jacked because you started lifting heavier dumbbells (if only)

Looking to “tone” rather than “bulk”? Your muscles don’t actually know the difference 🤨 Your muscles basically know whether they’re being given a reason to grow or not, based on the stimulus they’re given (your training!)

What we usually call looking “toned” is just having some muscle and a low enough body fat for that muscle to be visible.

How many times have you walked into a poorly equipped hotel gym and thought… ok what the hell do I do with this?

Well that will never happen again once you save this lovely swipey post …

Any movement where you’re pushing weights away from you work, you could do a bodyweight push up or dip here too! (Works your shoulders, chest, triceps)

Anything where you’re moving your hips back and forward to work the back of the body 🍑

Anything that means you’re pulling weights towards you works here! Pull ups or ring rows / TRX if the gym allow work fab too!! Here we are working back and biceps 💪

Last but not least! Any movement where you are bending your knees! Squat / lunge / split squat / leg press if the gym has one!
