Today saw us travel over to face East Ardsley, a few familiar faces missing but nevertheless another strong squad out for Fryston who were hoping to get there 4th win in a row.
With tough conditions n Fryston playing up the hill and into the wind for first half we knew we had to dig in and ride it out. But it was Fry that started the brighter with East Ardsley forced on to the backfoot, Fry strike first after Will Drake rises highest from the goal kick to flick it on to youngster Charlie Amery who still had so much to do but he unleashes a volley from 25 yards in to the bottom corner (with a little help from the uneven goal mouth…). East Ardsley then reply with a goal of there own 10 min later with a great header in all fairness. But it was still Fry piling the pressure on which sees them get a deserved lead from a wonder strike from talisman Will Drake, some say he only scores screamers.
Fryston start the second half with a 2-1 lead, but we now was playing downhill with the wind on our backs. A slightly slow start to second half but we soon kicked in to gear with a route one approach from keeper Nath Martlew who kicks it length of pitch to find Will Drake who slots it home for his 2nd of the game. Then the game was killed off with 15 mins to go as another long ball is flicked on from Will Drake which sees Jack O’reilly running on who takes one touch and then lashes a shot towards the near post leaving the keeper no chance.
Brilliant performance from the boys which sees us get our 4th win on the bounce and maintain top spot.
Refs Motm going to Rikki Banks with a no nonsense performance at the back, whilst getting an assist to his name.
