We live and love hockey. With 8 teams AND a Development Squad, there's definitely a place for you! We can accommodate to all standards, from beginner to elite. Our training sessions are of the greatest standard, with high-quality coaches at all our sessions. We don't just play hockey though...

Our fundraising abilities are above and beyond, and it's shown, having won LUU's Best Fundraiser 2015 an

d LUU's Fundraising League Winner 2015/16! We have a series of 'Challenges for Champions', which includes a huge array of activities. From completing the Channel Swim, to climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks, we're always aiming to raise more and more for charity! And then, of course, there's the social side. We have weekly Wednesday night socials, where we can celebrate our BUCS Wednesday triumphs with all our might. We also have the more special socials, with our Annual Christmas Dinner and an incredible end-of-year Alumni Weekend... They're never ones to miss! We've ensured success in all areas of the club, and this can be shown by being awarded BUCS National Club of the Year 2013/14, LUU's Best Sports Society 2014/15 and LUU's Club of the Year 2015/16! What a way to end the season !!!!(for good this time) 4 incredible games were played and 3 wins secured! The 1s played a tough match to kick varsity off and a last minute Beckett goal saw them a 1-0 final score. The 2s played their 5th game again Beckett this season and scored 5 goals to celebrate (lucky it was against their 2s this time). Despite captain rosie jetting off on the start of her year abroad the 3s secured a 2-1 win. And last but most certainly not least the 4s smashed a 7-0 win making up half of the goals LUUWHC scored against Beckett 🤩. And before I sign over this account to SS(turnedPBS) Roz I’ll leave you with a little quote from her describing this Wednesday . ‘The weekends previous activities had an impact on our game, but once that first goal went in, it was a true masterclass in the art of beckett bashing’ (winter, 2023) Its been a pleasure, let’s hope miss Winter can provide you with some more entertaining captions so you don’t fall asleep reading these anymore 😇

CHALLENGE FOR CHAMPIONS!!! 🏆 Tomorrow morning 54 members of LUUWHC are walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks raising money for It's Our Day
💚It’s our day is a Leeds based student mental health charity, striving to achieve mandatory mental health education throughout all levels of education in the UK, to help with crisis prevention.

The charity also runs a weekly mental health Breakfast Club each Saturday at Cardigan Lane Community Centre, providing Leeds students with a free home cooked meal and place to hang out, whilst also receiving mental health advice and support. Any donations to help push the girls through the hilly 25 miles will be greatly appreciated and sent to a great cause!! Last results post of the season 🥲 The final week of fixtures saw the 1s come 2nd in the Christie Cup in Liverpool. The 6s came out on top against the 7s and have 1 Saturday game remaining which if they win means they will come top of the league 🥳 what a season it has been 💚💚 P.s committee applications for next year are open so get applying !! X

Before posting last weeks results here’s a special post to celebrate THE FIRST 8s WIN IN 8 YEARS!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳Their Saturday game vs Slazenger 4s saw Ines score her first and last goals for LUUWHC & Sally bursting into tears once she realised they won 🥹 What a way to finish the season - congratulations!! 💚💚💚

Fixtures! An exciting final week this week with the 1s heading to Liverpool for the Battle of the North - taking on both Liverpool and Manchester, hoping to maintain the Christie Cup winning title 🏆 Away in Newcastle the 4s play their final BUCS match of the season 🥹 And an exciting game on Saturday as the 7s take on the 6s @ weetwood 2:30 pb! Hope everyone has a great week 💚

WEDNESDAY BUCS: only 3 games on this week as the season is coming to an end :(( The 2s and 4s make a joint journey to Sheffield hoping to get lucky! The 3s and the 2s are both playing their final BUCS of the season! Unfortunately no chance to spectate this week 🥲 Hope everyone has a great Wednesday whether you’re playing or not 💚

Last weeks results: snowy conditions meant 1 game got called off - to be rearranged for this week! The 3s and 4s braved their games resulting in a win and a loss! P. S Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s charity pub quiz- together we raised lots of money for a great cause! 💚

Tomorrow’s games: Another quiet week this week! 3 late pushbacks so fingers crossed the weather is on our side👀Away the 2s play their final BUCS game of the season 🥲Only 1 home game this week so make sure to watch! The mens 2s also have their cup final at 3pm at Weetwood if you are looking for more to watch! Finally we have our charity Pub Quiz this Sunday at dry dock- 7:30pm!
