Eyeing up Dream boat Annie - A classy E1 (HVS depending on guidebook and opinion) at Porth Clais area Pembrokeshire. I’ve climbed this twice before and this time with the waves literally lapping at my ankles. 😀 A superb line that’s well protected if you look.

And then as if by magic….i found myself on holiday! What do you do when you run a climbing and guiding business…🤔 Go climbing for yourself. Here we are on the iconic Armorican - I first climbed this many years back with friend Jon Ginesi We couldn’t get all the way to the sea, so had to ab in and I traversed across into the crack so that enabled me to start the route. The shot Jon took - which won the best picture award at the Kendal climbing wall - hung there for many years. Good shooting Jon! 👏🏻 Buggers never asked if I’d like it when it finally got taken down 😀 But I do have a copy hanging in the downstairs toilet! A fantastic line.

One day two different venues for these chaps - wanting to learn the ropes literally, on scrambling/easy climbing - Lots learnt including gear placements, racking/roping up, handling rope, reading the route, decision making and abseiling. Day of two halves with the weather.

Out with dad and son team - Tom who had been a few weeks previously wanted his dad Darren to learn the ropes with him so they could go out scrambling safely together and hopefully do some cool routes. Spot of rain but this added to experience and the yes we can go out scrambling in the wet! Good day and good company.
