In The Flow

In The Flow In The Flow is for those that seek to find flow in movement and life. Being receptive to the rhythms Our true nature is unique, beautiful and free.

In The Flow is founded by Rachel Gosling, yoga teacher, lover of dance, movement and life. Rachel has always been a "mover" but found her full expression through yoga, as she recovered from physical and mental dis-ease. Yoga not only became a therapy to wellness, it also became a re-discovery of her true nature. When we are true to ourselves we fulfil our dharma or life's purpose. We are in alignm

ent. We are in our flow. This is the key message in Rachel's teachings and the purpose of In The Flow. In The Flow is continually changing, evolving and, well..... going with the flow. Rachel has specialised training in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Womb Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Post-natal Yoga, Yoga for Dancers, Yoga Nidra and the therapeutic teachings of the KYM in Chennai, India. She has benefited from the wisdom and knowledge of many wonderful teachers, for whom she is truly grateful. Rachel often draws on these teachings directly, but more often than not, she is drawn to expressing that which comes up in the moment and the influences of a lived practice of being In The Flow. As she, herself, is faced with the daily challenges of stress, overwhelm and sometimes even physical pain, she is drawn to share the deeply nurturing and nourishing practices that keep one connected within, rather than striving to attain.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

Effort doesn't have to mean tension.

When something feels challenging, it's easy for everything to tighten.

The jaw. The shoulders. The breath. Sometimes muscles that don't even need to be involved.

But what if we could find the effort that's needed, while allowing everything else to soften?

To be strong without becoming rigid.
To breathe fully while doing something difficult.

Ease isn't the absence of effort. The two can exist together. 💛

✨ I have spaces in my Thursday 1pm class at Upperthong Village Hall if you'd like to come and practise with me.

Sometimes we just need to allow the mind to catch up with the body.

To notice the breath.
To notice how we feel.
To be here, in this moment, right now.

How does your body feel today?

Do you ever stop long enough to notice?

Sometimes, that small pause can make an incredible amount of difference. 💛

Gathering Your Energy ✨

Where does your energy go?

Into the things you need to do, the people around you, conversations, worries, plans, thoughts that keep circling… sometimes it can feel as though bits of us are scattered everywhere.

September’s Monthly Evening Gathering is an invitation to gather some of that energy back in.

As summer begins to soften towards autumn, we’ll take time to slow down and reconnect through grounding movement, breath, sound, meditation and deep rest. Exploring what helps us steady our attention, feel more present in our bodies and leave feeling a little more recharged and resourced.

No pressure to achieve anything. No need to perform. Just 90 minutes to move, breathe, rest, connect and be.

It’s also my last class before I head away for a three-week break, and it feels like a lovely way to round off this part of the year together. 🤍

On Sunday night I went to see a live jazz band with friends.

Everyone was sitting at tables watching and listening. But I wanted to dance.

So I did. 💃

My friends joined me, and we had so much fun. The band appreciated our appreciation, and it was a mutual vibe. Other people around the room smiled, and afterwards several people told us how much they'd enjoyed watching us.

I could so easily have looked around and thought, Nobody else is dancing. This isn't what you do here.

And I'd have missed so much joy.

Which led me to thinking about confidence this week. Not confidence as being certain, getting things right or knowing exactly where we're going.

More the confidence to trust our own response.

To be enthusiastic about the things that excite us. To move when we want to move. To take up our space. To change direction when something isn't working. To make "mistakes" and know that it is okay anyway.

To be fully ourselves without needing everybody around us to understand, approve or do the same.

Because taking up our own space doesn't have to mean taking space away from somebody else.

I danced. Other people sat and watched. Both were okay.

And perhaps sometimes, when we allow ourselves to be fully ourselves, we give something to the people around us too.

There is something wonderfully freeing about not constantly checking the room to find out how much of ourselves we're allowed to bring into it.

Perhaps confidence isn't about knowing what's going to happen or how to do it right.

Perhaps it's trusting ourselves enough to meet what does, and allowing ourselves to enjoy the dance along the way. 💛

I looked up at the sky today and stopped for a moment.

Nothing particularly dramatic. Just one of those little moments when you actually notice what’s there, instead of rushing straight on to the next thing.

And it felt rather appropriate, because this Friday’s Space to Savour Gathering is really about just that.

Making a little space to notice. To move, breathe, rest and enjoy being where you are.

We’ll spend 90 minutes together with gentle yoga, breath, stillness and deep rest — a little pocket of time with nowhere else you need to be.

Sometimes the person holding the space needs somewhere to receive too.

I spent this weekend away at an Access Bars Foundation — something I do alongside yoga, but almost never talk about here.

And this is one of the very few photos I took all weekend.

I didn’t make content. I didn’t document everything. I rested, received Bars, swam, spent time with lovely people and gave myself some proper space to switch off.

It was more than just rest, though. I came home feeling genuinely clearer — in my head, in my energy, and in myself.

The whole weekend felt nourishing, recharging and genuinely transformative.

And it reminded me why I value these kinds of spaces so much: spaces where we can step out of doing, tune back in, clear some of the noise and simply receive.

That’s very much the spirit I’m bringing into this week — and into Friday’s Space to Savour Gathering at Upperthong Village Hall.

A little time to slow down, move, breathe, rest and make some space for yourself.

What if yoga wasn't about becoming more flexible?

My classes are about building the kind of strength and mobility that supports everyday life. Getting up from the floor more easily. Reaching overhead with confidence. Feeling steadier on your feet. Moving with more confidence and less stiffness.

Alongside that, we take time to slow down. We begin and end each class with a chance to arrive, notice what's happening in our bodies and reconnect with our breath. Sometimes we'll explore simple breathing practices or meditation too, helping you leave feeling a little more grounded and present.

Every class is adapted to the people in the room, with plenty of options offered throughout. Whether you're returning to yoga, completely new, or have been practising for years, you're welcome.

Over the years, we've built a lovely community at Upperthong Village Hall. It's a friendly, supportive group where people encourage one another, have a laugh together, and enjoy an hour each week to move, breathe and simply be.

Our next block begins the week commencing **24th August** and runs for **three weeks** before I take a short September break. It's the perfect opportunity to come and see what we're all about.

🧘 Mondays | 10:45–11:45am
🧘 Wednesdays | 9:30–10:30am
🧘 Thursdays | 1:00–2:00pm
