4 members of Mid Sussex selected! Well done everyone!

Congratulations to everyone selected to represent Sussex at the Bedmax Inter County Challenge at Bury Farm in July — a fantastic achievement and very well deserved!

A huge thank you as well to everyone who attended the team selection competitions and training days. Your enthusiasm, commitment and support made the process such a success, and it was wonderful to see such great team spirit throughout.

We are incredibly proud of all our riders and wish the team the very best of luck at Bury Farm! 🐴✨

We have three full teams for this with 11 members taking part 😍 I would love to get more people in if we can!! Our new chair Katie Gilmour has kindly said we can use her arena for filming. Entry deadline 19th July and video deadline is 5pm on the 24th July. Please message me (Sian Barden) or comment below. Great for all levels including bitless classes.

Qualification to BRC NAF Five Star National Championships
Winning combinations in classes 2 – 6 will receive an invite to
compete in a relevant class at the BRC National Championship (5-6 September 2026)
to compete in a similar test as to be confirmed at BRC’s discretion . No wildcards or
pass downs of invites will be given. Combinations who qualify for the championships
will be required to follow BRC dress & tack rules at the Championships. Teams will
not receive an invite to the championships (individuals only). Competitors wishing
to qualify for the National Championships MUST have a Competition Pass
with the name of the horse they are competing on listed before the close

BRC are delighted to offer online dressage competitions to our members, in collaboration with E-Riders.

We're very excited to Introduce you to Katie, our new chair!

Hi all, for those I haven’t met, I’m Katie and I’m delighted to be your new chair. Max has left very big shoes to fill! I’m a mum of four children, aged nine to 14, and we live in The Haven, near Billingshurst with a menagerie of horses, dogs, cats and chickens! We have three horses and a turbo pony that we keep at home. You will usually see me at events with my lovely ISH, Sweetie, and you’ll probably see my daughter with her pony, Clover.
My background is in journalism and I’ve been fortunate to work for the BBC (where I was Chair of the BBC Riding Club many years ago!), Discovery Channel and Animal Planet before I went freelance and worked for Horse & Country TV. I now host and produce the podcast, Poles, Piaffe & Prosecco with my good friend and trainer, Tania Grantham.
I’m always keen to hear ideas from members, so please do come and chat if you think of an event or training idea.
I look forward to getting to know everyone better, and helping to keep the club the friendly and inclusive group I know it to be.
