Why is pelvic stability so important? 🤔
Your pelvis is at the centre of so much of what we do — walking, running, bending, lifting and even standing.
Good pelvic stability helps you:
✨ Move with better control — keeping your pelvis stable while your hips and legs move.
✨ Support your lower back — your core and pelvic muscles work together to help provide stability.
✨ Improve hip function — allowing the hips to move while the pelvis remains controlled.
✨ Improve balance and coordination — particularly during single-leg movements such as walking and stairs.
✨ Reduce unnecessary movement — helping your body work more efficiently.
That’s why exercises like One Leg Circle and hip twist are so useful. The challenge isn’t just moving the leg — it’s maintaining control of the pelvis while you do it! 🧘🏼♀️
At JR Pilates, we focus on quality, control and purposeful movement, with exercises adapted to suit your individual needs.
