🏐 NEW FOREST MATCH DAY ANALYSIS 💚

Well done to all the girls today! Two very different games, with lots of positives to take away and some fantastic individual performances.

🏐 Results
🟢 Wimborne 4 – 8 New Forest
🔵 Bournemouth 24 – 5 New Forest

🌟 Individual Player Analysis

💚 Elsbeth – GK
Elsbeth was fantastic in GK today! She made some brilliant interceptions and was incredible in the D, putting the shooters under constant pressure and making it difficult for them to get their shots away. A really strong defensive performance, and thoroughly deserved Players’ Player against Bournemouth! 👏

💚 Flo – GD
Super impressed with Flo’s performance today! She provided fantastic backup throughout, was always there when her teammates needed support and showed some lovely stretching and defensive work to challenge the shooters. A really solid performance!

💚 Emilie – C/WD
Emilie did so well today! Despite coming under a lot of contact in the Bournemouth game, she stayed strong and kept going. Fantastic determination and resilience! 💪

💚 Holly Hicks – C/WA
Another great effort from Holly. She kept the pace up throughout, showed some lovely dodging and did really well coming forward to offer options for the ball. Brilliant work rate and movement around the court!

💚 Ava – WA/GA
Ava has been working really hard on her performance, and it’s definitely showing! She continued to work hard, chasing the ball, finding space and coming forward to receive it. She also put some lovely balls into the D for our shooters. Keep going, Ava, your progress is showing! 🌟

💚 Holly Dunning – C/GA
Holly put in a brilliant effort today! She played a major part in the team, keeping the pace high, making some fantastic interceptions and getting into great shooting positions. Her shooting was really good, too. A fantastic all-round performance and a huge contribution to the team! 👏

💚 Tabby – GA/GS
Tabby was excellent today! Her Players’ Player award against Wimborne was thoroughly deserved. She showed some lovely holding in the shooting circle and was consistent with her shooting throughout. A really dependable presence in attack who gives the team confidence when the ball comes into the D. Well done, Tabby! 👏

💚 Final thoughts

The girls should be proud of themselves. We had a fantastic win against Wimborne, and although Bournemouth was a tougher challenge, these games are all valuable learning experiences, especially with some of the girls having already played earlier matches.

There were some brilliant interceptions, great defensive pressure, positive movement into space and some lovely passages of play. The effort and determination shown by the girls, even when tired, was fantastic to see.

We’ll take the positives, learn from the challenges and keep building together as a team.

Well done, New Forest! 💚🏐👏

Next onto our two U12/13 squads

We didn't have a good start with alot of the girls unfortunately poorly, so couldnt make it today, so we had to mix the teams up slightly.

First up NF 1 against a strong N Dorset side. This season in the league sees a change in the age groups and all of the girls in the team are 11 or 12 so this is a real step up for them this year.

It took us a while to gel and work together so started the first half slow. With some great defensive work and interceptions we came back in the second but couldn't make up the difference with a score of 8-18 to our opponents.

The score did not reflect the hard work the girls put in

Next they had another tough opposition with Bmouth. Again the girls fought hard but cldnt get past their defence as they were all tall girls. Lots to take away from both matches.

Then onto New Forest 2 who again had Bmouth. We fought and played hard but cld but match the tall opposition. The attack struggled to get free at times but the defence played superb

A special mention to Amelie who played GD in her first match and wow what an impact, she chased every ball and helped up the court.

💚💜 OPOM Amelie & Elsie 🤩🤩

Next match was against Christchurch. We started the game strong with some lovely attacking moves and great shooting. Great defensive interceptions and court play. The girls really played so positively which reflected in the score of 12-2 to NF

Superb game girls, great to watch

💜💚 OPOM Amelie & Elsie🤩🤩

Both teams worked really hard today, more movement on court needs to be worked on but so many positives.

Super proud girls

Then onto our U11/12 squad

Match report by coach Kristy:

New Forest u11s were facing two tough teams today, Christchurch and Bournemouth 1st team.

We were first up against Christchurch who quickly went a couple goals in the lead. The girls didn't let this get to them and worked hard to win balls, with a fantastic double act in defence by Isabella and Elsie C who gained so many intercepts and turnovers I lost count. As our confidence grew, our attack started to shine with some lovely moves in and out of the shooting D to provide space and opportunities to goal which were delivered well by Molly and Elsie P. A lovely, well contended match.

Final score:
New forest 11s - 5 vs 5 - Christchurch
💚💜 OPOM - Elsie C 🤩🤩
💚💜 CPOM - Elsie C: 🤩🤩 you absolute firecracker! You used blocking moves to delay the GA, gained countless intercepts and tips and bounced so much we should rename you Tigger.

Our second game against Bournemouth 1st team was incredibly tough, with many of their players towering over ours. But the girls never gave up, they pushed so hard and played some beautiful netball with defence putting an incredible shift in, some lovely changes of direction through centre court and feeds into the D which meant we scored 3 goals - something to celebrate!

Final score:
Bournemouth 1s - 21 v 3 New Forest
💜💚 OPOM: Elsie C🤩🤩 - I'm sure for the same reasons as above and for putting brilliant pressure on a very very good player
💜💚 CPOM: Molly🤩🤩 - your movement in and out of the D created space for you and Elsie to take some shots, which went in. Well done!

Then over to our Junior teams who were playing in the Salisbury Junior League today

U10 /11 Bee Netball

Match report from Coach Kristy

New Forest u10s had a tough first match against Spires 1st team who had some superb shooting skills and we struggled to match them. It took us a while to find our groove but the last two quarters saw us play with more focus and tenacity, earning us a few more turnovers. Sadly the gap was too great to make a comeback and Spires 1 took the win.

Final score
Spires 1 - 11 v 1 New Forest
💜💚 OPOM Bess 🤩🤩 well done, real tenacity on court and fab intercepts!
CPOM 💜💚 Sophia🤩🤩 - you worked so hard and applied so much pressure despite it being your first competitive netball game. Couldn't be prouder of you!

Our second game was against Spires 2. We were warmed up and more alert which resulted in more possession and more chances at goal, we just struggled to get it into the net. Lots to build on but some great play at times and real positives to take away.

Final score
Spires 2 - 8 v 1 New Forest
💜💚 OPOM Willa🤩🤩
💜💚 CPOM Sophia🤩🤩 - you really settled into play and worked so hard, gaining intercepts but also finding space when in attack, well done!

A very busy day of netball for New Forest Netball

First up were our fabulous newly formed Walking Netball ladies, Foxes and Fireflies playing in the Hampshire Walking Netball League.

Both teams were playing against two well established teams. With some new combinations to adjust to, and get use to, both teams dug deep and pushed to the end but the experienced teams took the win on both games.

Still much to learn together as a team, and we can only get stronger from each match. Great conviction today ladies

Well done to

💚💜 OPOM Foxes Caroline 🤩🤩
💚💜 OPOM Fireflies Janine 🤩🤩

Had a lovely time at the National One Awards with England Netball today in Birmingham. Unfortunately I didn't win but lovely to be there and participate and represent Netball In Hampshire & IOW ✨✨
The day was all about the fantastic women and girls that play netball every week, all the coaches, umpires and volunteers that give up their time.

It was a great reminder why we do what we do.... See you all next week

Oh but I did meet this lot 🙌🏻🙌🏻✨✨
