Every year, the Kent Society of Rugby Football Union Referees presents one of the most highly prized awards among Kent clubs — the Whistlers' Trophy.

This prestigious award recognises the club that has shown the greatest hospitality and respect to visiting referees throughout the season.

Following each match, referees are asked to assess the hospitality provided by the home club and how well they were welcomed on the day. To win the Whistlers' Trophy, a club must demonstrate these qualities consistently throughout the season, week in and week out.

The award is about far more than hospitality alone; it reflects the true spirit of rugby — respect, sportsmanship and community.

This much-coveted trophy was presented at the Kent County RFU Awards Dinner at the Ashford International Hotel by Bill Hobba, President of the Kent Referees' Society.

Congratulations to Faversham RUFC on being worthy recipients of the 2025/26 Whistlers' Trophy. Their consistently warm welcome and excellent hospitality throughout the season made them deserving winners of this prestigious award.
