⚽️ Minis sessions are back! ⚽️

It was brilliant to welcome our Year R and Year 1 children to a fun-filled Minis session on Saturday, with support from the Football Fun Factory.

The session was full of energy, engagement and enthusiasm, with everyone getting involved and having a great time! We’re already looking forward to our next session !

Well done to all involved but please tell your friends as we have more spaces!

Our U18s Yellows (yes, we have TWO U18 teams now!) returned to action this weekend with a Friendly against Herne Bay Youth.

Despite tired legs, sponsored by Slovenly Summers and Reading Festival Flu, the team put on a very entertaining display in a 13 goal extravanganza. Two new players were put to the test - Dhylan and Luca - who both passed with Flying Colours, in terms of their ability, passion and excellent fit with team culture.

But, there can only ever be one Player of the Week, and that goes to George- with his speed, dribbling and IQ - knowing when to pass and when to shoot. A brilliant, maturing player - Think Prime Garrincha - ridiculous close control, untrackable at speed and the end product to match the guile.

⚽️ FROM HERONS PLAYER TO HERONS COACH! 💛💙

We’re delighted to welcome Oscar to the Herons coaching team as our new Minis Coach! 👏

Oscar joined Herons as a youth player at just 12 years old, and we’re incredibly proud to see him take the next step in his football journey, moving from player to coach and now helping inspire the next generation of Herons players. 🙌⚽️

His new role has been made possible through our exciting partnership with Dan Henderson Football Fun Factory, creating a clear pathway for young players to remain involved in the club, develop new skills and build a future in football both on and off the pitch.

Mark Woodcock, Chairman & U18 Coach, said:

“It’s fantastic to see Oscar make the transition from player to coach. He’s come through the club himself, understands what it means to be a Herons player and can now pass that experience on to our Minis.

Creating pathways like this is exactly what we want to achieve, giving our young players opportunities to stay involved, develop and ultimately give something back to the club.”

Dan Henderson of Football Fun Factory added:

“We are extremely excited to be working with another brilliant partner in the local community.
Together we will deliver football sessions to children as young as 18 months and set them up for their Footballing journey. To see a child journey from Tots sessions , to fun and development, then into Herons teams and then complete cycle and become a coach is amazing, similar to Oscar's journey with Hernhill Herons.
We are excited and delighted to team up with such an amazing club with aligned values.”

🤝 And this is just the beginning.

There’s plenty more to come from our partnership with Football Fun Factory, with further opportunities and initiatives already in the pipeline.

💙 And that’s a Minis wrap! 💛

What a fantastic way to finish the season! Last weekend was our final Minis Session before we take a well-earned summer break. 🏆

A huge thank you to all of our amazing players, parents and volunteers for making Saturday mornings so much fun. Watching our little footballers grow in confidence, make new friends and fall in love with the game has been brilliant.

A special good luck to our current Year 1 players, who will return in September as our new U7s, ready to take on the exciting challenge of 3v3 football. We can't wait to see you all continue your football journey!

Our U12 Yellows (season 26-27) are hosting an OPEN TRAINING session on Wednesday 22nd July @ The Abbey School 3G in Faversham.

They play Division 1 football on Saturdays in the FDYL and are looking to add to their already strong and dynamic squad.

Our U10 Yellows finished their final round of friendlies yesterday against Deal Town Rangers, bringing the season to a close before the summer break. ⚽️

After the game, we headed down to Deal Beach for a breezy end-of-season trip and enjoyed a well-earned ice cream, followed by an unexpected (and rather chilly!) dip in the sea 🌊🍦

A fantastic way to finish the season with this incredible group of players and parents. The commitment, support and team spirit shown throughout the year has been brilliant. Not just a football team!

Enjoy the summer break… and now it’s time to look ahead to U11! 💛💙

🎉👏 Huge congratulations to 2 of our amazing coaches, Coach Heather & Coach Tom on achieving their UEFA C Coaching Qualification! 👏🎉

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication, passion and commitment they bring to our club every single week.

Alongside coaching and developing their teams, Tom also gives his time as our Vice-Chair, while Heather plays a vital role as our Child Welfare Officer. Their commitment goes far beyond the pitch, helping to ensure the club continues to thrive and provides a safe, positive environment for all of our players.

Balancing these important volunteer roles, day jobs & families while completing a UEFA C qualification is no small feat, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved.

Thank you both for your hard work, commitment and the countless hours you dedicate to our club. Your passion and willingness to keep learning make a real difference to our players and our football community.

Congratulations once again—you’ve both done yourselves and the club proud!
