Week 7 Pick up Games: SUCCESS! ✅
We were joined by two lovely non-hippogriff guests today at our pick up games, and in spite of the windy conditions played some good Quadball!

🏐Welcome to Quadball Pick-Up Games: WEEK 7!🏐

We’re nearing the end of our 10-week Pick Up games programme, and its been a lot of fun so far! Come join us on the meadows to throw a ball through some hoops and give Quadball a shot!

What to expect:
- A short introduction of the rules
- Diving into casual beginner friendly matches
- and a lot of good vibes!

We had many people who were just watching us play decide to join and enjoy this unique sport the past few weeks.

🤾What is Quadball?
Its a niche mixed-gender sport, incorporating elements of dodgeball and handball. You get four balls— One volleyball (to score points) and three dodgeballs (to eliminate opponents.) The dodgeballs apply pressure while you and your team try to score and defend as many points as possible!

👀How can I join?
We are doing weekly Pick-Up and Play sessions on Thursdays 7PM-8:30PM for a limited amount of time! Just show up in running shoes and joggers and hop in!

We also play in national tournaments, you can join the team by messaging us or coming to our usual weekly Saturday trainings. DM us to let us know you’re coming and if you have any questions. We don’t do squad selections so if you join and sign up, you will have a spot on the squad!

🏳️‍🌈Quadball is Gender-Inclusive!
Quadball is not just a mixed gender sport, but one that is actively gender inclusive! This means the sport and our team puts in an active effort to make sure our non binary and female players feel seen and included. The 3 Gender-Max rule means that a team can only field three players of the same gender maximum on pitch at a time. This rule encourages gender diversity on the playing field, and every nom binary gender label is considered its own individual gender! Come and give this uniquely trans and gender inclusive sports a try!

✅Mission Complete: Pick-Up Games WEEK 6!

Thank you everyone for coming today it was tons of fun! We welcomed two completely new players and a couple Quadball players who have travelled up from England ti join our session today. I’m aware the weather in England is about 30+ degrees recently but here in Edinburgh its been super lovely, sunny, and breezy (yay for 20° weather!) The games were followed by a nice trip to the pub for a post-training snack.

🙋What is Quadball?
Quadball is a mixed gender, niche sport using four different balls: a volleyball to score points, and three dodgeballs to prevent your opponents from winning.

Each team sends 6 players on the field, composed of two beaters (uses dodgeballs) and four chasers (uses the singular volleyball.) In this unique mixture of , and , players of all gender identities, abilities and skills can win!

Quadball Pick-Up Games ✨WEEK 3✨
Is here! Our third edition of the Pick Up Games are happening TONIGHT!! ‼️‼️

Come try Quadball this evening in the Meadows with us. Expect casual matches (beginner friendly, no contact!), cherry blossoms and a post-game pub social! Best of all? Its COMPLETELY FREE!✅

What is Quadball, you may ask? Its a unique mixed gender sport featuring FOUR (quad-) balls, with different abilities. Volleyballs score points, and three dodgeballs can be used to - you guessed it - eliminate people like in actual dodgeball! This is all played with sticks between your legs to add an extra level of challenge.

What do I need to bring?
Just wear running appropriate shoes and joggers and you’re all set! We’ll provide the equipment.

What to expect:

✅Get a short introduction
✅ Play!
Everyone is new/learning so we heavily encourage you to come try it out even if you’ve never touched a ball in your life!

🤾Quadball Pick-Up Games are here! ✨
Come try Quadball with ZERO sport experience necessary! Quadball is a mix of Rugby, Handball and Dodgeball. Its fully mixed gender, trans inclusive and Beginner friendly! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Starting this Thursday 23rd we will be running weekly Pick-Up games targeted at newcomers who want to give this unique sport a try. Both new and old players are welcome and encouraged to come join!

Today we had beautiful sunny weather in Edinburgh (rare) and since we were just a few people we decided to play some Hunger Games, Quadball edition. If you don’t know, this drill has everyone start on ‘cones’ and all the balls + sticks are in the central ‘cornucopia’ like in the Hunger Games books. The goal? Be the last one standing and eliminate everyone else!

Starting this coming Thursday 23rd, we’re starting a Pick Up League in the Meadows! More information coming soon, but this means you can come and join a match of quadball with 0 sport experience at all! Just enjoy running around throwing a ball through hoops with a stick between your legs. Let us know if you’re coming 👀
