⚾ HELP US BUILD OUR BACKSTOP ❤️

Edinburgh Rays has been built by people who love baseball and believe our city deserves a proper home for the sport.

After countless hours of volunteering, fundraising and support from our community, Morgan Playing Fields is becoming that home.

Now we need one important final piece: a permanent baseball backstop. 🏟️

The backstop will cost around £7,000, with grants covering more than half. We’re asking our community to help us raise the remaining £3,000.

It might look like a fence, but to us it means so much more.

It means a proper place for people to discover baseball.
It means our players can finally look behind home plate and say “this is our home.”
And it means building something that will still be here for the players who come after us.

We’re not just building for this season. We’re building something that lasts.

⚾️ A massive thank you to every Rays member and supporter!

Today was a really special moment for the club, at Edinburgh City Chambers. For the first time ever, baseball has been recognised by OneCity Trust and the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Robert Aldridge — and he confirmed to us that this is the first time baseball has received this recognition! 🤣⚾️

Not only were we awarded £700 towards strengthening the baseball community, but we were also introduced to a significant number of local community organisations, including some huge groups within Edinburgh. These connections will be incredibly valuable in helping us grow the Rays, strengthen our baseball community and promote baseball across the city and Scotland.

This achievement belongs to the entire Rays family — our members and supporters. Every member’s commitment, effort and support has helped get us to this point.

Thank you to OneCity Trust and the Lord Provost for this recognition and for supporting baseball in Edinburgh. We truly appreciate it.

🔥 POST-SEASON BASEBALL IS HERE! 🔥

This Sunday, the Edinburgh Rays head to Glasgow to face the Glasgow Baseball Association in a Post-Season Wildcard Game! ⚾

🚨 MASSIVE NEWS FOR THE RAYS! ⚾️🏟️

This is a huge milestone for Edinburgh Rays Baseball Club.

We have now received official written recognition from Edinburgh Council that Morgan Playing Fields is our permanent home in Edinburgh. 🙌

But there’s more…

The Council has also officially confirmed its support for us to make our current temporary backstop a permanent, professional backstop. 🎉⚾️

That means we now have the green light to move forward with a proper long-term structure at Morgans — a massive step towards creating a real home for baseball in Edinburgh.

This is something we’ve been working towards for a long time, and it’s a pretty special moment for the club.

Morgans is officially home. And now we’re building it properly. 🏟️⚾️

🏆🐺 MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SCOTLAND WEREWOLVES! 🐺🏆

What an incredible achievement — British Baseball Federation Summer Cup 2026 GOLD CHAMPIONS! 🥇🏆

A huge congratulations to the entire Scotland Werewolves squad on an absolutely outstanding tournament. To come out on top and lift the trophy is something every player, coach and supporter should be incredibly proud of. 💪🔥

And a very special congratulations to our own Fabio Calderon, representing the Edinburgh Rays on the Werewolves roster! ⚾️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We couldn’t be prouder to see Fabio representing Scotland and helping bring home the Summer Cup gold. What a fantastic experience and a brilliant achievement for Fabio personally, and for everyone at the Rays.

These images will be incredibly useful as we prepare for further developments at the field and continue working to improve the home of the Edinburgh Rays.

TOUGH FINISH. STRONG SIGNS. ⚾️

A shy start from the Rays today, but we gradually found our feet as the game went on, with some much-improved defence and some good batting showing through later in the game.

Great appearances on the mound from Hikaru and Fabio, who both stepped up and gave us plenty to build on.

Some improved base running today too — lots of positive signs and good progress in that area. And, of course, that Sam run should have counted! 😄⚾️

11–2 against the league winners is certainly nothing to be ashamed of, and there were plenty of positives to take from the game — especially for our newer players, who continue to gain valuable experience at this level. 💪

That brings our league campaign to a close, finishing 5th out of 6 — so at least we didn't end up at the bottom! 😎⚾️ There’s plenty to build on as we look ahead to next season.

A big thank you to the Edinburgh Cannons for hosting us today and for a great game. ⚾️👏

Well done everyone who stepped onto the field this season and kept battling right to the end.

Now it’s time to turn our attention to post-season competition! 🔥⚾️

The Rays head to Warriston Playing Fields this Sunday for our final away game of the Scottish National Baseball League season — vs Edinburgh Cannons, and it’s still right here in Edinburgh!
