This weekend we held our 2026/27 season registration day!

It was a great day with new players signing up for the first time, regulars returning to reregister and past players coming back to rugby after a break for a season or two.

We also introduced the new scrum machine to all appropriate age groups which was very well received by all who used it - this will be a real game changer for the teams, thank you all for contributing to its purchase.

If anyone had energy left, the assault course took it out of them - refuelling with a burger and ice cream finished off a great morning!

It is with great sadness that we share about the passing of ERFC stalwart, William "Bill" Gausden, aged 76. Bill was a constant and much-loved presence at the club for many years. Countless members have fond memories of the warm welcome he gave them when they first joined, and of the unwavering support he showed as they progressed from age-grade rugby into the senior teams.

Bill will be remembered for his ever-present smile, his enthusiasm for running the touchline, and his willingness to take on the countless unseen and often thankless tasks that help keep rugby clubs and teams thriving. There is no doubt that Bill's passion for the game, together with his encouragement and kindness, helped create friendships, memories, and a sense of community that will endure for generations to come.

Everyone at ERFC sends their heartfelt condolences, love, and support to Bill's family and friends, especially his wife, Di, and son, Chris.
Bill will be greatly missed, but his contribution to the club and the lives of those who knew him will not be forgotten.

Bill's funeral will take place on Tuesday 15th September at 11am at Eastbourne Crematorium.

It's the end of an era here at ERFC as we wave goodbye to Steve Clark. Off on a new adventure as he moves out of the area for a new job, Clarky will be greatly missed by everyone at the club.

His years of coaching experience, insane knack of bringing people together, ability to make the hardest S&C fun and fun loving personality is going to be missed by the whole club. The season Clarky skippered the 1XV to a league winning victory will be remembered as one of the best!

Thank you, Clarky, for your decades of dedication to the club as player, coach and so much more.

Thanks to all those who played and supported at this weekend’s training match against Old Brightonians.

With the current playing restrictions in place due to such hard ground, the teams played under controlled conditions. This still allowed fun and valuable game time during the pre season!

A huge thank you to the Harlequins Community team for putting on a fantastic two-day summer camp at Eastbourne RFC! 🏉☀️

We were treated to some fabulous sunny weather and plenty of great rugby. Lots of new skills were learnt and, best of all, plenty of new friends made along the way! 🙌

Thank you for making it such a fun, memorable couple of days - we loved every minute! 💛💙
