A post I never wanted to have to write.
After a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to withdraw Chase from racing for the time being.
Chase has a huge passion for riding and racing, and he has real talent, but there have been ongoing behavioural issues that need to be addressed. I believe it's important for him to understand that actions have consequences, and at the moment his focus and attitude aren't where they need to be.
As many parents in the paddock know, race weekends involve a lot of work behind the scenes. Managing the bike, preparing everything, travelling, setting up, and making sure everything runs smoothly is challenging enough. Doing that while also dealing with repeated meltdowns, lack of focus, and refusal to listen has become too much for me to handle on my own.
I've put everything I can into helping Chase get to where he is today, and I'm incredibly proud of what he has achieved as a rider. However, I can't continue making the sacrifices required if he isn't willing to put the same effort into what he's there to do.
For now, racing will take a back seat until things improve. This decision hasn't been made lightly, and it's been incredibly hard on me personally. Recent family changes have also made things more difficult, and I need to prioritise both Chase's wellbeing and my own.
I'd like to apologise to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in Chase along the way. Your time, effort, and support have meant a lot. He is a talented rider with a bright future, but right now there are more important lessons that need to be learned away from the track.
Thank you for your understanding.
