Over the weekend the club had some notable achievements.

This was the RAM Grampian Athletics League Final where the u16 Girls won their Age group trophy for their amazing performances over the course of the year. ✨

Well done to all of the u16 girls who competed and everyone else that took part in the Final 👏

Ben Thompson was also competing at the UK Schools Games at Loughborough University as part of the Scottish Wildcats Team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The team put in a fantastic performance, finishing 1st in the A Final and taking home the gold medals and winners trophy! 🥇🏆

Amazing achievements by all. 👏🔥

RAM FINAL

👟 Dust off your trainers and give running a go at the Summer of Sport Festival!

Whether you're taking your first steps into running or looking for your next challenge, there's something for everyone.

Dundee Hawkhill Harriers the club of home heroes Laura Muir and Eilish McColgan will be at the festival with fun activities to introduce you to the world of track and field.

They'll also be joined by Dundee Junior Parkrun, so whatever your age or experience, you'll have the chance to get moving and discover everything running has to offer.

🟦⬜️Day 2-SA National Age Group Championships

Another beautiful day at Grangemouth stadium with the sun shining. The 1st race of the day was our U14G athletes, Holly Ferrier and Gabrielle Williams in the 200m hurdles heats, where both girls ran PBs, Holly 34.28s and Gabrielle 31.53s both making it into the final.

Next up was Eloise Rogers moving up an age group to compete in the U20W hammer, where she came 4th with a new club record of 32.77m.

Next up was the Javelin, Holly Ferrier with a throw of 16.45m and Isla Hodgson throwing 12.62m.

Back to track Harley Hughes also moved up an age group to compete in the U20M 100m, Harley came 4th in his heat in a time of 11.52s.

In the U14G 200mH final Gabrielle Williams came 5th in a time of 31.77s and Holly Ferrier 8th in 34.77s. Both girls competing for the first time in the Scottish champs and ran amazingly.

Isla Hodgson was up again but this time, running in the U14G 200m and coming 5th in her heat in a time of 33.94s. Again this is Isla’s 1st time competing in these championship and did so well.

The last 2 races of the day for us were with our hurdlers. U20 Favour Ugwuocha shocked herself in the 100mH obtaining a massive PB of 15.06s to pick up a bronze medal 🥉

And after a really good performance in the 200mH, Gabrielle Williams ran in the U14G 75mH coming 2nd her heat in a time of 12.30s to make the final were she was 5th place in a time of 12.39s.

It's been an amazing weekend and the coaches are so proud of everyone that competed 😊. The Club athletes coming away with 1 gold, 2 silvers and 2 bronze medals.

🟦⬜️ SA National Age Group (U14, U16 & U20) Championships
Day 1- U16 & U20
First up was Jennifer McGill in 100m heats, making it into semifinals, where she ran a PB of 13:56s (6th place)
Ben McGinnes also running 100m getting through heat and semis into final, coming 6th gaining new PB of 11:79s.
In between semi and final Ben also competed in LJ, jumping 5:98m to get 3rd place 🥉
Next onto the hurdles.
First up was U20 Favour Ugwuocha in straight final for 400mH. Coming 2nd with a new PB of 63:37s 🥈
In 300mH Mollie Geddes progressed to the final coming 7th in a time of 51:56s.
Darach Dailly had a great run in a straight final of 300mH coming 1st with a new PB of 41:42s 🥇
In hotly contested 800m heats Darragh Stretton was 4th in his heat with a time of 2m11s.
Last event of the day was 100mH & after winning his heat, Darach Dailly came 2nd in the final in a time of 14:55s 🥈

At the end of day 1 medal tally was 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze. Equal 11th in the club medal table.
