Jason and the team left the club nice and dry, but by the time they reached Bressingham they were absolutely drenched! 🌧️
The heavens have opened and it’s been raining all the way to Thetford!
They’ve made it safely to their first stop of the route and are enjoying a well-earned hot coffee at Thetford RFC clubhouse ☕️ before continuing on to Swaffham RFC.

Today, Jason Wyatt and the team set off on their incredible 230-mile charity cycle ride in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. 💙

Starting right here at Diss RFC, 17 riders will take on the challenge over three days, visiting rugby clubs across Norfolk before making their way back to Diss for a well-earned BBQ and beer! 🍻
Jason's parents, Chris and Rhian Wyatt, have both been part of Diss RFC for more than 60 years, with Chris being one of the club’s founder members. Sadly, Rhian passed away after living with Alzheimer’s for several years, and Chris has also been diagnosed with the disease.

It is with great sadness that we announce a stalwart of Diss Rugby Club, Philip Southgate, passed away on 18th August 2026.
 
Philip was a much valued and respected member of our club family.
 
Following his playing career Philip had the honour of serving as Club Chairman, giving his time, commitment, and leadership to help the club develop and thrive, without which it would not be where it is today.
 
His support and love for the club continued and never wavered. He was a familiar and valued presence around Mackenders, supporting our teams and members whenever possible.
His contribution, both on and off the pitch, will always be remembered and appreciated.
 
He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
 
Funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
 
Our thoughts are with all of Philip’s family and friends at this very sad time.
