When the Team Pulls Together 💪⛳
One of the things I’m most proud of at Link Golf UK is how quickly our team responds when challenges arise.
Like any business, staff absences can happen unexpectedly. At Derby Golf Course we’re currently operating with two members of the greenkeeping team unavailable, but rather than allowing standards to slip, we’ve moved quickly and brought in support from across the group.
Today, three additional members of the Link Golf UK team travelled to Derby to work alongside our existing greenkeeping team, focusing on cutting, presentation and course preparation.
Tomorrow we’ll be applying a liquid feed programme to the greens to help improve plant health and putting surface quality. Then, from Monday, we’ll begin a concentrated improvement programme, starting with top dressing the greens and continuing with a week of intensive maintenance works.
We’re also strengthening the team further with a new greenkeeper joining on a full-time basis and we’re looking to bring in an experienced additional greenkeeper next week to provide further support.
The reality is that challenges will always arise but what matters is how you respond. Our team has shown fantastic commitment, travelling between sites, changing schedules and pulling together to ensure golfers continue to enjoy the course.
A huge thank you to everyone involved.
We’re confident there will be no disruption to play and we’re looking forward to seeing continued improvements across Derby Golf Course over the coming weeks.
