This weekend saw us take the boys down to Sunderland AFC to play a few games and watch the first team, up first on Friday night was a match v Sunderland u12s at The Academy of Light, was a really enjoyable game against very good opposition. Saturday we played local side Hetton Juniors Inter who are the U12/13 national champions, a very tough game for the boys but a great experience. Then Saturday was the highlight watching Sunderland take on Man United and Sunderland very unlucky not to win the game . Great to relive memories and a great experience for the kids to enjoy. 🔴⚪️🔴

This morning we hosted Stenny Maroons and after 5 mins we found ourselves 3-0 down, some crazy goalkeeping gifting easy goals. Mistakes happen it’s part of the game. Once we settled we were much on top for the remainder of the game amd got to 3-3 and 3 super saves from the Stenny keeper denied us the win. Football is never consistent and never straight forward, all we can do is try our best and I get that every week. Onto the next one .

Took the short trip through to play Gairdoch today, a game of 2 halves due to the weather and pitch conditions, dominated the first half, Gairdoch missing a penalty, great save from Danny who is in a great form and glad to have him. Second half Gairdoch put a bit of pressure on and poor marking at set plays allowed them to get back into the game and draw level. Had a wobbly 10 mins then settled back down and couldn’t get the winner, a draw a fair reflection. All the best to Gairdoch

Our next trip is an away weekend to the Stadium of Light, a game verses the academy on the Friday evening followed by a game verses a local side on the Saturday morning. Then a Premiership experience, the kids get to see Sunderland and Man United in the afternoon.
Sometimes you have to see the dream to work harder to achieve the dream.

No game this week, few players away for weekend along with the coach and our goalie. Free weekend next weekend due to Easter Holidays, so plenty time to rest and get ready for an away game to Gairdoch on the 11th. If anyone is looking for a friendly next week get in touch we’d be happy to travel.

Travelled to through to play Rossvale today, very big and physical side. Started the game with great football which led to the opening goal from Jackson. A mistake from our defence gifted an equalizer. Second half we didn’t do the things that were getting us joy and lacked quality in the final 3rd, Rossvale managed to get another couple before we scored again. Had most of possession but did nothing with it, Rossvale wanted it more and counter attacked us well. If it hadn’t been for Danny in goal it could have been 6/7. So he’s today’s MOTM. Well deserved. Well done Rossvale and good luck for the season ahead.
