Cumbernauld Colts: 2
Carbrain: (Sky): 1

A good win for the boys tonight against a stuffy Carbrain team who had 4 trialists from Airdrie Pumas playing that recently folded.

The boys started ok and soon had Carbrain on the back foot , but after a couple of decent chances we fell behind after a mix up at the back.

The boys took 5 mins to recover, but after that we started to dominate possession without creating a lot of clear cut chances. Danyl then had a free kick from 35 yards, which he smashed high into the net.

1-1 at halftime, but the boys knew if they kept passing the ball quick they would eventually score again.

The 2nd period was again played in the Carbrain half and 10mins into the half Luke came on as a sub and scored after beating 2 players in the box and calmly passed beyond the goalie.

Further chances for the boys came and went and as the game went on & Carbrain were having the odd breakaway.

A great save for Gareth with a minute to go kept the boys 2-1 up, which was thoroughly deserved.

A tense finish, but a good win for the team considering the standard of the trialists playing in the match.

Goals: Danyl and Luke
Man of the match: Alfie

Cumbernauld Colts: 1
Scotland Boys Club (Red): 2

A sore loss today for the boys in a very close match against CLYFA A league opponents in the 3rd round of the Regional Cup.

An evenly matched first half between 2 good sides saw only 1 goal and unfortunately it was for Scotland. Ollie, Max and Alfie all came very close for the Colts, but the Scotland keeper was in top form.

The 2nd half the boys were on the front foot and deservedly got the equaliser from the penalty spot after Max was fouled after some skilful footwork in the box. Corey scoring the penalty giving the keeper no chance.

The game was in the balance until Scotland were awarded a soft free-kick outside of the box, which resulted in a direct free kick goal for Scotland Boys Club that they scored from.

The Colts then had Scotland Boys on the back foot, but we just couldn’t get the equaliser that the boys deserved.

Well done to all the boys today and unlucky not getting the game into penalties.

All the best to Scotland Boys Club in the next round.

Man of the match: Alfie

Rossvale Utd: 1
Cumbernauld Colts: 4

A horrendous morning for football, which saw us shooting uphill into a strong wind in the 1H.

The first half was all about staying in the game and apart from the Rossvale goal both teams struggled to create much.

The 2nd half was all about the boys playing some lovely football and creating so many chances.

Danyl opened the scoring with a superb free kick giving their goalie no chance. Jayden then was sharp to tap in 2 more. Luke then had a shot deflected off Danyl for the 4th.

A great win to see out the year and hopefully we can keep the run going next year.

The boys are looking very fit also and all the running, beep tests, climbing stadium stairs at Broadwood and hard preseason starting to pay off now.

Well done to Jay who again did a great job in goal standing in for Gareth. All of the defenders played very well today also.

Man of the match: Caesar
Goals: Jayden 2, Danyl 2

Enjoy your Xmas and happy new year!

Well done to Caesar for achieving player of the month from all the coaches and players ! 🏆⚽️⭐️

A great last 5 matches from Caesar, which started with him moving position into a central defensive midfield role along with the team changing formation. Since then the team have been creating a lot of chances and scoring a lot of goals and Caesar has played a big part in that with 3 assists along with a few Man of the Match awards against some good teams.

One of the original players in the team who has been in Cumbernauld Colts going back to fun 4’s and 5 asides.

Cumbernauld Colts 1st team a matter of time for Caesar if keep progressing at this rate we are sure ⚽️

Keep up the good work Caesar 🟡🔵

A great win tonight in the stadium for the boys against decent opponents.

The boys started on the front foot with the front 3 looking very dangerous.

Ollie opened the scoring with some great individual play. Josh then scored a trademark 25 yard free kick in off the crossbar.

Then some great switches of play from Josh were finding Alfie who twice found Jayden who finished brilliantly on both occasions.

A great first half for the team.

The 2nd was very similar to the first with the boys in control. Cole McKinnon set up Jayden for the 5th and then Caesar creating a tap in for Jamie.

A great win and good gametime for all the boys in the stadium.

A big well done to Jay who excelled in goal.

Goals: Jayden 3, Ollie, Jamie and Josh
Man of the match by referee: Simon
