▶️ Jumps & Drops ◀️

Sunday was all about getting airborne! 🚵‍♂️💨

A great group session working on the skills, techniques and confidence needed to tackle jumps and drops safely and effectively.

We broke everything down into manageable steps — looking at body position, take-offs, weight movement, landing position and, most importantly, how to control the bike through the feature.

It’s not just about getting bigger… it’s about getting better. 🤘

Great riding from the whole group, with some impressive progress throughout the session. 🔥

⚠ Parking reminder ahead of the Hope Women Enduro event this weekend (5 to 6 September) ⚠

⛺ Event camping and parking is up at Worcester Lodge, GL16 7EG (what3words: ///stealthier.centuries.handy).

🅿 If you're aiming to park at the Cycle Centre, we recommend arriving early, parking considerately and not leaving wasted space between vehicles.

🚘 If you fancy avoiding the crowds, alternative car parks are available at either Beechenhurst or Cannop Ponds (see the map below). Both these car parks are a five-minute drive away, and both are connected to the Cycle Centre via the Colliers Trail (so you can ride to the Centre off-road).

⛔ If you arrive at the Cycle Centre and our car park is full, DO NOT park on the road/verges outside of the Cycle Centre. Equally, DO NOT drive over verges to park "off road". Instead, please head to either Beechenhurst or Cannop Ponds.

This Thursday we are doing things a little differently. We’re open 11am–8pm tomorrow for the Transition Demo, which means three things:

1️⃣ Some people are about to have a VERY good night.
Demo bikes, great trails and every reason to have fun. 🤘

2️⃣ Some of you are thinking… “What demo?”
Don’t worry, we’ve got you. FOD Fest is coming… and there’s plenty more demo action where that came from.

3️⃣ We are NOT opening at 9am.
Because Joe and Ferg don’t need to work an 11-hour day. And, quite frankly, there isn’t enough coffee in the Forest to make that happen. 😂

So, if you’re heading our way tomorrow, make sure you visit us between 11am–8pm.

After that, normal service resumes.

Back in the office after an amazing summer of group coaching, 1:1's and Kids summer camp. Great to get this review about one of our Coaches Dan, Great work.

Huge thanks to the coaching team and guide team, its been a very busy one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My 13 year old son and a recently did a 1:1 (or in this case 1:2, Which was the same price) coaching session with Dan from WyeMTB at the Forest of Dean.

I've been mountain biking casually for years and as my son has been getting into it more recently I thought we would both benefit from some coaching. For me to break bad habits and for my son to build good ones.
Also we'd both got more aggressive modern trail bikes over the summer, which ride quite differently to the old 26" hardtail I'd been riding.
Dan was great, put us both at ease and was able to explain things that have it's both some 'ah, now I get it' moments. Dan quickly but effectively took us through some fundamentals that we were lacking to build up our general riding technique before we worked on gaining confidence with drops and jumps. Which we certainly did.
Really good way for father and son to learn together. C

🚨 STOLEN BIKE ALERT — PLEASE SHARE 🚨

Absolute nightmare news—our garage was broken into while we were away in Europe, and two of our custom builds were stolen after thieves ripped a gold-standard ground anchor right out of the floor.

Keep your eyes peeled on marketplaces and trails for these:
🚲 Whyte E-lyte Evo (Custom Build)
* Hope hubs with Crankbrothers rims (29”/27.5” mullet)
* Hope 155mm cranks
* Burgtec cockpit & OneUp dropper

🚲 Mondraker Factor 24 (Custom Build)
* Mullet setup (26” front / 24” rear)
* SRAM brakes, OneUp dropper
* Burgtec pedals and grips

If you spot either of these bikes, suspect parts for sale, or have any info, please drop Wye MTB a DM or give us a shout. Super gutted, any shares or eyes on local buy/sell pages are massively appreciated.
