Generally it is for the use of groups staying residentially at the Centre but occasionally can be hired for private use. The Dean Garden Room in Parkend makes a great venue for a variety of occasions. It has been used in the past for Birthday parties, baby groups, weddings, yoga classes, conferences, team building events etc. It is a modern eco building with timber construction and a light airy fe
el. Large folding doors open out on to a covered deck with additional seating for 40+.The main building can seat 40-60 people cabaret style or 90 theatre style for presentations. A folding screen can divide the room into a smaller room for more intimate meetings. There is a well equipped kitchen and bathroom areas including disabled toilet, shower and baby changing. There is a roof terrace which provides good viewing of the wild flower meadow living roof and the surrounding village. The garden can be separately hired with use of a roundhouse and lawns. Activity equipment including an underground Tunnel System and team Problem Solving Challenges can also be hired. Other more adventurous activities such as use of the on site climbing tower and ropes course can be hired for use with a qualified instructor to lead them. We can also arrange off site activities such as caving, canoeing, mountain biking etc. The Dean Garden Room is immediately opposite the steam train station in Parkend and very close to The Fountain Inn pub. Some user groups also make use of the main accommodation at The Dean Field Studies Centre (DFSC) across the road which accommodates up to 80 people residentially. This is mostly used by school groups during term time but is available to hire from £13 per head per night for weekends and holiday periods. Hire of The Dean Garden Room is £75 a day /£40 1/2 day / £10.50 per hour for shorter duration.
