We need your help to construct

A PERMANENT DISABLED-ACCESS TOILET AT THE SCARR BANDSTAND

We want EVERYONE to be able to come to the Scarr Bandstand, as audience, performers or volunteers. So we need to raise funds for a toilet with good disabled access. This will be a vandal-proof composting toilet; no horrible chemicals to spill. We will also save money as we will only need to hire an additional 'Portaloo' very occasionally for theatre shows to help with queues during the interval.

We are over half way to our goal now. Amazing achievement. Perhaps we can go further and reach £5000. Just a small donation will be doubled so even a fiver will help.

Just a reminder to let you know that, sadly, the Scarr Bandstand Hymn and March Contest on 5th September has been CANCELLED due to lack of entries.
So there will be no event on 5th September. Do please pass this message on to anyone who was planning on coming to enjoy the brass bands on that day.
We intend to run a contest next year, on Saturday 17th July. We hope that we can encourage enough bands to enter, so that the Forest has a band competition like other parts of the country with a strong tradition of brass bands.

One event to mention is on Wednesday 9th September when Roger Drury will be hosting "Oh Crumbs" poetry and picnic session. The event starts at midday.

Well the two bands turned on the music and the sunshine, another great event at Scarr to mark the end of our season. See you all next year, hopefully you will be able to view our brand new compost loo. 🤞
